Big Pharma
#1
Big Pharma and the FDA makes it Very Hard for Herbalist / Holistic Healers and Students of Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) to be Licenced and Accredited.
I have had the FDA in my Clinics two or three times, pretending to be ill or asking advice about a natural remedy for an illness instead of the medication a western doctor has subscribed.
Luckily after an examination of their Tongue, eyes, skin, toenails and fingernails I find no real problem or at least no the problem / illness they are pretending to have and I send them away.
BUT, be warned, Big Pharma will have you killed and I do believe this.

If she billed them like MDs do, the government would have to take out more loans to cover the bill!

I did and I do, they always pay in cash for the exam and want a receipt with the time and date clearly printed.
They ask for a copy of their diagnosis work-up sheet as well. Which is no problem to copy.

I often will inform them about their Diabetes and High Blood Pressure after looking at their feet and ankles and or eyes, which of-course is not the illness they claim with what medication they walk in with.
I will recommend the proper Herbal Treatment or Acupuncture Treatment for their illness and I am always ignored.

If they're able to carry enough cash in with them to pay the bill, then you're not charging them like an MD would, you're charging them like a human would! What MD's charge should float a medium sized third world country for a whole year...

I guess I'm just Human and care about my patients and their wallets.
I'm not a Dentist, Veterinarian or Western Medicine Doctor.
I actually think Dentist and Veterinarian's charge more than you average office visit to your Family Doctor.

I wish so much that we lived closer to each other. For most of my life I had an old Chinese doctor. He understood my preference for natural treatments and didn't hesitate to prescribe herbs, nutritional changes or acupuncture. He retired right after I moved to KY or I'd still be seeing him when I go home to visit.

The doctor I've had since I moved here is great- he's an old school guy that actually listens to you and knows that you know your body better than he does- but it's just not the same.

Sounds like thuggery. Intimidation FBI style.

You are just trying to help people and make a living.

In my experience, I have had ailments pharmaceuticals took care of very well. I have also had ailments that no pharmaceuticals took care of. When that happens, the medical people just shrug their shoulders and blame it on me.

Why would I not want an option available to me? I would want to come see people like you. Maybe I would not need so many medications. I want the right to find out for myself.

There are insurance companies that now cover a State Licensed Acupuncturist. I take, BC/BS, Etna and the VA and some others. (The billing paperwork SUCKS)  smalltappinghead
I can not afford a coder to do the bills.

You can ask your insurance company for the names and numbers of Licensed TCM Doctors they have on file.
Or you can try Health Professionals  https://www.healthprofs.com/us/members?tr=Hdr_Brand for your state and get a pretty good profile with what they specilize in and what insurance they take.
I am listed with them.
Here is a good choice https://www.healthprofs.com/us/acupunctu...423&ref=10

I think for Kentucky and maybe TN.
Go to the site and choice your state and then on the left side choice the type of specialist.

I hope this helps.

But that's what makes you my kind of doctor!

I don't trust MD's much, and especially not hospitals. The last time I went to a hospital, about 3 or 4 years ago, they took about an hour and a half to look at me, tell me I was sick, and that I should go see a doctor - duh! That's why I was there! Then they charged me 5000 dollars for that bit of nothing. I went back home and treated the problem myself (t'was a blood clot) since they did nothing for it, and was better in about 3 days. I coulda saved myself 5 grand had I done that to begin with instead of listening to other folks who insisted I go to a hospital.

On the other hand, the last dog I had, a big old 90 pound hound, came dragging ass in after tangling with a bear, and the vet only charged 500 bucks to patch him up over about 3 visits, after a bear fight. So vets, at least around here, aren't that bad.

Dentists are ridiculous. My teeth are crumbling, They started that just a couple years ago, and I won't go see one. Way too expensive. The oldest son went to see one in Kentucky a year or two ago, and was charged 400 bucks to have ONE tooth pulled. I figure I can just let mine remove themselves over time instead of paying 400 x 32 teeth to get rid of them. from what I hear, they charge about 3000 per tooth for those fancy "dental implants" they have now. I can't even imagine paying 3 grand times 32 teeth to get a store bought set. If I had that kind of money, I'd buy my own carribean island nation!

I have government insurance now, and am scared to use it - they might not pay (it IS the gummint, you know!) and then I'd be left stuck with a ridiculous bill, so I'll just go on treating myself as best I can.

We have an acupuncture doctor about 11 miles from here. In a shocker, grace's pain clinic doctor prescribed acupuncture for her, and she found that doctor. We've not been there yet, though.

I'm big on chiropractors. I've found two decent ones over the course of my life, but ran into many more who weren't so good. Many of them are just in it to see how much money they can bilk out of you. The last good one I went to was for a problem where the last two fingers on my left hand were going numb. He charged 145 buck for some x-rays to diagnose the problem, and 35 bucks a visit to fix it, which was reasonable.

In contrast, I ran into one in Greensboro, NC, who charged anywhere from 750 to 900 dollars a visit to do nothing. I went to see him ONCE, after a car wreck, and he charged me 900 dollars for that one visit, and all he did was clack around on me with one of those clicker things, then told me to come back 5 times a week for more. No thanks. I actually made money on that one, though - the insurance company had gotten a lot of complaints on him, and were wanting to build an insurance fraud case against him.

No doubt that some are Crooked and are actually practicing without a degree or License.
I was informed by a patient about a person charging $300. a visit and not helping at all.
I got her name and address from my patient and look her up, No AZ. License and No Degree from an Accredited School in America, which any Acupuncturist needs to study for their Bio-Exam and their Clean Needle Exam.
I reported her to the AZ. Board Of Acupuncture, they closed her down and fined her, she was also taken to court.

Now to practice TCM or just Acupuncture you do need to have passed a License or at least in some states a Certificate to prove you passed the course.

For myself.
As an Accredited TCM practitioner I must be able to show the Malpractice Insurance company that they have passed all State Requirements for the State they want to practice in.
I have to carry $600,000. / $1,500,000. per. person in Malpractice Insurance for the different insurance companies I accept.

In order to be a member and on the Board of the AZ. Board of Acupuncturist I must have my Licenses renewed every year, I must have 26 hrs of remedial education every two years, I must belong and be in good standing with CAQH (Council for Affordable Quality Healthcare), Masters degree in TCM and another in Holistic/Herbal Medicine, I have Two Ph.D.'s in TCM and my Doctorate in the field of TMC.
I am also the Head Instructor at PIHMA college (Phoenix Institute of Herbal Medicine & Acupuncture) and teach two classes a week, one for Acupuncture and the evening class is for Herbal Medicine.
I have two clinics that I see patients at  and I work 6 days a week about 12 hours a day doing all the above every two week a month, then my husband and I take a hunting/fishing trip.
AND, I am here as much as I can be to assist our members and to show our members we care.

@"Ninurta"
See if that Acupuncturist recommended to Grace is listed in that link I provided above.
If he is, you should be able to see what he charges and what he is trained to treat.
