america's Star spangled Banner like you have not heard before
#1

Back in the day there were prisoners of war on both sides. The American prisoners were kept in chains and filth on a British ship stationed about 1000 yards off the shore of Ft. Henry.

Frances Scott Key (a lawyer) arranged a parlay for a possible trade of prisoners of war. He went to the British ship to negotiate and it was agreed a one for one trade of prisoners could be made. Frances told the American prisoners they would be freed this very day.. Unfortunately when Frances went back above board there was an Admiral who greeted him and just about 2 hours away the entire British Navy who the admiral said would shell Ft. Henry until the Fledgling American flag was taken down. He did not care there were women and children in the Fort, all he cared about was lowering the flag and a surrender.

The first video is the American story and the second video is a of a Britt listening to the story

Tremendous.  No wonder people hold that National Anthem within their hearts.  Great history lesson for me.

Cheers Sky.

Jesus Christ!

I never knew that backstory. I was literally today years old before I heard it. I always thought Key was in Fort Henry watching, instead of on a British ship watching.

That really is how the British treated POWs, that I already knew. Some of my ancestors were Hessians captured at Trenton, Hessians freed from their bondage to Hessian princes who hired them out, and who elected to stay here after their terms were up, so I know from research that the Americans treated their POWs differently.

That is the stock we came from, and modern Americans shame them. Modern Americans would first have to ask what the flag's gender was, and/or what personal pronouns it used before they'd go to support it with their own one and only bodies. They'd refuse because the flag represents slavery to them, or because it's Capitalist.

Modern Americans are by and large a shameful race, and bring shame on the men who made the nation to begin with. It may be that our time really is done, and that we need to collapse, because the testicular fortitude is no longer there to support it. There are damned few left that would rather die on their feet than live on their knees.

There are a few, but one has to wonder if there are enough.

I reckon only time will tell, and that  telling time is upon us,

We'll see,

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

My friend there are still hard men who would only die on their feet and not their knees, I guarantee it so do not lose faith... In many parts of the world the monkey dance is starting... no one knows how far the dance will progress but it is a start at organizing which is better than sitting around complaining IMO... I think I will post a shot story I wrote a few years ago about the 4th of July
