Ubiquitous Bluetooth and PAN - Personal Area Network
#41
It blows my mind to think about how just a few years ago, before I started playing around with WiFi, I would have been mostly unaware of the number of signals that are almost everywhere. Sure, I would connect to open WiFi hot spots like at the Dr's office or at a friend's house with a high speed connection, but I never though about rouge signals. Along with cell towers everywhere, now they have satellites that have unobstructed line of sight straight down on you. I'm totally aware of all the commercial radio and TV broadcasts along with private communications going on, but these WiFi and Bluetooth networks add yet another dimension to this. It is in all places all the time pretty much and it can be totally invasive of your privacy.

Just with my home as an example. A few years ago, there where no WiFi signals except a cell phone hot spot. Now there are 5 WiFi signals along with Bluetooth. Totally due to my interest in getting up to speed by connecting my computers as a wireless network, so I did it to myself. A good thing I did though because I am more aware than ever of it's potential consequences.
