Who want their kids to be sex workers?
#21
I accidentally found this video, "Worth of a Girl: hope and survival of child brides".

I found it interesting so I decided to share. It is about thirty minutes long. It shows how young girls are viewed around the globe, in a lot of places. We in America, often make the mistake of thinking that the majority of the world shares our world view. We are actually the odd man out, in a lot of places.

Maybe I am just too soft, but this thread has been hard to read in bits.

A lot of people feel the way that you do. Unfortunately, they are often blind to the evil that is right in front of their faces, and the lines have been so blurred that, to be honest, most would never be able to tell.

What may be innocent displays of affection for one child, are the same signs that distress another child that is being exploited or abused.

I know several detectives that had to give up their job because they could not stand looking into the face of an innocent child that had become a victim to this evil crime. One of them said that he spent a large amount of his time on the job crying, and just could not do it anymore.

I have another detective that I call "The Rock", because of his stalwart, no nonsense, yet loving and compassionate approach with our young victims. I don't think it is easy for anyone, but someone has to do it.

Slightly off topic from sex slaves, but last night I watched a show on Chicago PD that was about a gang of men who had abducted several illegal immigrants and were using them as a baby farm. They were selling the babies for $4,000.00 each using a prominent doctor and an adoption agency.
Once the women had served their purpose, they were killed. I suppose more were brought in to replace them.

Even though this was just a show, this type of thing goes on in real life. It makes me wonder if this is one reason Biden wants the border open, and why there are so many young girls in this caravan?

There is a difference between the human trafficking, which is nothing more than a form of modern day slavery, and commercial sexual enterprise/work/prostitution. Where the lines get blurred is when the person is under the age of 18.

It is common for us to have victims that claim to be willing and consenting participants, but since they are below the age of consent it is not legal. Also they may very well fit into the category of human trafficking if they have been groomed to believe there is a special relationship between them and their offender, which coerces them to comply.

Immigration can, and does present a possible avenue for children to be exploited, but a very large portion of the children affected are American born and raised. This is not a problem that is exclusive to any race, culture, or country.

This not a problem that politics or laws have been able to stop. This is an old societal problem that will only end when the people have had enough and just say no.

After looking at the post made by BIAD. maybe these guys took it a bit too far, but I think they demonstrate that many people are just fed up with the this crime and are actively saying that they will not tolerate it anymore. http://rogue-nation3.com/showthread.php?...5#pid67065

The data presented is old. It is from 2019. With COVID and the extended periods of time that many of us have been isolated, these numbers do not come close to what they are today. I find it very disheartening that though America is in the top ten for the countries that are safest for children, that we are not at the top, but closer to the middle.

Quote:The index aims to help countries track progress toward the second target of Sustainable Development Goal 16 – to “end abuse, exploitation, trafficking and all forms of violence against, and torture of, children” by 2030.
“With approximately 200 million of the world’s children experiencing sexual violence each year, the need to document and benchmark the global effort to prevent child sexual violence has never been more important,” Sweden’s Princess Madeleine, co-founder of the World Childhood Foundation’s #EyesWideOpen campaign, said in a press release.
With a score of 100 representing the best environment for children, the top ten countries on the index were all high-income: U.K. (82.7), Sweden (81.5), Canada (75.3), Australia (74.9), United States (73.7), Germany (73.1), South Korea (71.6), Italy (69.7), France (65.2) and Japan (63.8). Brazil ranks next and is classified by the World Bank as upper-middle income.
