We were too close to a fire in SoCal around 1972 or so.   It was so close, we could see the eucalyptus trees going up like fireworks.   My folks had the car completely packed and ready to go.   Pretty unforgettable.

May it not come any nearer!

We have another family living with us now, I'm away from work after evacuating them.
