I've had experience with this flap trap before.
Seems names are offensive even town names.
Now to put this in perspective aboriginal words such as 'Wagga' meant a crow. (Wagga Wagga is a rural city)
'Gin' was an aboriginal term for an aboriginal woman. ("Gin Gin", fondly referred to as 'Ginny' is a small rural town)
Now I may be corrected here but as I understand the lingo or aboriginal vernacular there isn't an s on the end of the terms to make them a plural. Simply put, the word is pronounced more than once,
Hence, Wagga Wagga means 'many crows'
Or Gin Gin meant more than one Gin.
Hunting with aboriginals as I did from the obligatory Toyota out central Aus the term 'Malu' (pronounced Marloo) meant a kangaroo. If put into plural like "Malu Malu' it meant more than one.
But anyway, for those that need to know there is a song about the demise of place names. (and don't get me goin about "Coutts Crossing:) due to that political correctness. The following song sums it up.
