They asked for mine. I gave it to them as I am sure by merely signing up for anything nowadays they just need a little info on you then they pretty much have it all. But that's just my train of thought.

When I registered way back when, the phone number was optional. Maybe @"Tarzan the apeman."  or @"beez"  can confirm if it still is.

Haven't used mine either. FB keeps sending me alerts ALL THE TIME for me to add my phone number and it's nope from me.

I find it odd that IMGUR wouldn't be optional.
