Rogue Cup Challenge Vol 8. DuckforcoveR vs IAMTAT
#41
Was there a doorman or bathroom attendant in the bathroom after you ran into A rod?

Doesn't really matter to me. I was hoping @DuckforcoveR would be on soon to get that last question in.

Maybe give it an hour or 2. I won't be able to tell you if you're right anyway.

Speak of the devil and he shall appear!

He was inside of the bathroom. Weirdest thing ever for a country boy to have someone hand them a towel inside a bathroom. Never seen anything like that except in NYC.

Since it doesn't matter anymore who chooses first...
I will pick CLAIM #2 as the lie.

This is a tough one. I feel like all 3 could be true, and I also think the most outlandish (Claim #2) is just too obvious. I also know Mel Kiper, and know he hates seafood (or is that just me warming up for my next narrator job?  tinycool )

So, although I agree with @"IAMTAT" and am leaning towards #2, I'm going to pick Claim #1 instead.

And I also don't mean this to sound like somebody is lying about their service (much respect, and Thank You), I'm just trying to keep the game interesting (i.e. probably lose this round in the process...)
#46
Ok, @iamtat  has picked claim 2 as the lie. Remember @duckforcover the rules have changed a bit so you can pick the same if you choose.

Edit: DFC keeps replying same time as me  tinylaughing tinylaughing
#47
Ha! I guess I'll give it a bit in case any one else wants to guess
#48
I chose #2 because Faux didn't mention in his first version of the claim, that A-ROD actually spoke to him after shaking hands and saying "Holy Shit"...and telling him "Great game"...while not knowing if there had even been a game.
That was some funny stuff...worth including in the original claim.

Anywhoo...Like DFC...CLAIM #1 would've been my second choice.

Let's start with claim#1

ABSOLUTELY TRUE! One of the coolest things we did on that deployment. We met up with the sub in the middle of a storm which I ASSUMED was to keep satellites or planes from spotting it as their locations are super secret.

The sub surfaced and we sent our RHIB over to get the Chief and bring him aboard. From there we flew him to Panama where he got a civilian flight home. I dont know what the red cross message was about. I never asked as it was none of my business.

Getting to fly was a real treat. The pilots did trust me big time. When going home from deployment the helicopter always gets to leave a few days before the boat pulls in and I got to go on those flights as well.

That deployment we were also the first people to CAPTURE one of the drug running subs called SPSS (self propelled semi submersible) We got over 7 tons of cocaine from that bust. I thought about using that as one of the claims but it's to easily googleable.

Usually if they are about to be captured they will scuttle it and jump out. The evidence sinks. No bust. Our boarding party was able to get aboard before they could jump out. Dude put his foot on the hatch so they couldn't get out and had to close the scuttles.

FFG8 towing that spss.

As for claim#2......

Also ABSOLUTELY true! The bar was called Mustangs, it is a higher end sports bar in Manhattan. I thought Arod was a dick lol! Only because he didn't buy the bar drinks.

May have been smart on his part because I distinctly remember ordering 4 shots and handing the bartender 40 dollars and IT WASN'T ENOUGH! They were 11 bucks a pop. Meanwhile Arod was in his private room with some girls. I have a picture of him somewhere, though, its grainy and taken through the glass.

Sorry @iamtat I dont know why I didn't include the short banter, it is pretty funny even if a little embarrassing on my part.

@sol nailed it! Everything about claim 3 is true EXCEPT I've NEVER been to his house. Him and his wife are regular customers. His favorite thing to order is the rosemary chicken with garlic mashed potatoes that's why I said that was the first dinner and my wife is the reason I knew he doesn't like seafood. She really helped me out with this one. Guess I have to share my points with her.

tinybiggrin

So there you have it. What does this all mean? I have no clue

CONGRATULATIONS FAUXMULDER FOR OBTAINING A CLEAN SWEEP !!!

Great game @"IAMTAT" and @"DuckforcoveR" !! It was entertaining and fun !!

@FauxMulder, by obtaining that sweep and those 50 points, YOU are now eligible to confront @"DuckforcoveR" for the Rogue Cup Championship !!!

And perhaps, if you win, get to wear that golden Champion frame !!

How does that work?

A very special OP for the Championship will open tomorrow morning. It's all I'll say for now.

First, I just want to be sure that both DFC and FM are available tomorrow for the challenge?
