Have You Ever Been Visited by an Angel?

Everyone had already made it to the small sandy area where we were going, but the current got me and pulled me out, and under the water. I remember thinking, 'this is how I'm going to die'. I was fighting from panic, and I hollered out, "HELP!!", when I came to the surface, and then got pulled back under again.

While I was under the water I heard a voice in my head that said, "It isn't your time yet. Stop fighting the water, and just relax. You'll be okay." So I stopped fighting, and I floated to the surface.
When I opened my eyes one of my friends had swam out to get me. He reached for my arm and pulled me out of the current, and we made it to the river's edge.
The rest of my friends watched in stunned awe! They said I scared the s*** out of them! I was shaking myself! tinysurprised

The guy that came after me said when I got pulled back under the second time I just missed hitting my head on a big boulder! If I had, I would have been knocked out and drowned.

My angel had come to my rescue... again.   minusculebiggrin

in my younger hellion days, i had about 10 or 15 car crashes at speed. never got more than a scratch. been told by emt's, firefighters and troopers i shouldn't be walking away from that. i've fell several times from heights over 20 plus feet nothing but a sore leg or back. only time i broke any bones was in the Corps twice on the same arm. once was in the squad bay jumping foot lockers on roller skates, the second time same arm, rolled down Mt Mother Fucker with a radio on my back.

i can't tell you how many times my life could have be lost,or could have been seriously maimed or hurt,by the stupid shit i did.
hell when i was a kid maybe 6 or 7, me and my little brother use to go out, take a hammer and smash 22 shells on the front porch with a hammer.

then one day in my mid 30's i just stopped doing stupid shit. well not really, it's more like calculated risks now. things that i know if i'm not real careful i'll get hurt or maybe die.

there's been a couple of times that i've heard that little voice, but it's been in quiet times or in times that things were looking bad.
never heard it during all the crazy stuff, but have always known that someone was watching over me.

why i couldn't tell you, but i know they are.

I have a coworker that was T boned in a car accident by a car running from the police. They had to use the jaws of life to get her out of the car. She only had a few scratches and a simple break of her fibula. The paramedics, police, and staff, kept coming to visit her, because they could not believe that she was alive and had so few injuries after the condition the car was in. She said they were shocked when she told them that she had a passenger in the car and he protected her. They told her they did not find anyone else in the car. She said they thought she was crazy when she told him that her passenger had been an angel.

She said she didn't realize how bad it was until she went to the junk yard to see the car for herself, she said that is when it hit her, why they were so amazed. She said the car was nearly sheared in half and there was no way anyone could have come out of that car alive, yet there she stood. She said the attendant there actually kissed her hand because he said she was blessed and she was a miracle.

for a little while, but there was always something else to be messin around with on the farm. then we'd do it all over again. he finally got tired of doing the whippins, started lettin Momma do it. she'd make you go get your own switch and you better not come back with a twig.

she always says she was to hard on me. i tell no she wasn't, tell about the times i thought about doing something and the thought of the cops or the farmers catching me didn't bother me.

it was what if Momma finds out that stopped me.
