"Yeah, it's only gonna be about an hour or so
'Til they rip off all your mountains, boy,
And that one last tired old eagle bites the sand.
And all of that high-and-mighty scenery's
Gonna be leveled to the ground, boy,
By a bunch o' them mindless strip mines on the land."

Apparently no one else got it...

Simon and Garfunkel put that song together, it flopped, they disbanded because they had some artistic issues....
Later the producer remixed it with electronic instruments and drums and re-released it without telling them.
When that version became an instant hit, they got back together to do a second album (The Sounds of Silence) and they went on to become one of the most known duos ever.
Fun conspiracy fact, This song supposedly was written after Paul Simon read an article about a woman who was murdered in New York City in 1964. She was attacked by her killer and stabbed once near her apartment building, and the killer fled.
Later she was in her building and still alive when he stabbed her a second time, where she proceeded to scream for help. He finally killed her with a third stabbing. Throughout the entire time 37 witnesses had seen her being attacked and had done nothing. It was only until a man in her building called the police, did they find out about her.
When asked about why they had done nothing, people responding by saying "It was too late," "I went to bed" and "if you don't get out of my face, I'll push you done the stairs." It turned out that majority of the people were immigrants from Germany who had survived the Holocaust and the war, and had tried to speak up about what Nazis were doing to people, and were in turn thrown into concentration camps themselves.
One person told police, "Last time I talked to the police about someone being murdered, it nearly cost me my life," Its the sound of silence.
I actually prefer this version...
I knew about that story, it always disturbed me how nobody did anything and what that Woman went through before she died! I had no idea they were connected though, nor did I know about the producer ghosting that track himself.
Hell of a post!

''From the tear in my shirt
Right down to the hole my shoes
I got nothing left to lose
I got nothing left to lose
And nothing's ever gonna get better
No, it's all a clever ruse
And I got nothing left to lose
I got nothing left to lose''
''It seems it doesn't matter
How hard I fight
I might never get it right
I might never get it right
So I turn my back to the light
And just fade into the night
Oh, I might never get it right
I might never get it right''

''A crack of her whip is fine, latex rubber and blind eyes
Cat o' nine tails breaks me down, her discipline is so profound
Scars and cuts keep me around, tied up or tied down
as long as I am bound...Just as long as I am bound''
Be very surprised if anyone gets that one without cheating.

Did'ja know that was a fluke? The lead guitars didn't show up and they subbed it in. Bam!!
Rafferty was another genius.
GUESS ...........
[Verse 1]
Here I lie forever, sorrow still remains
Will the water pull me down and wash it all away?
Come and take me over, welcome to the game
Will the current drag me down and carry me away?
Suddenly the light begins to fade
[Chorus]
Hopeless
I'm falling down
Filthy
I can't wake up
I can not hold on
I will not let go
Worthless
It's over now
Guilty
There's no way out
I cannot hold on
I will not let go
[Verse 2]
Silent I go under, I am not afraid
I can see the daylight shine and slowly drift away
Safe to say it's over, sink into the grave
There is nothing left inside, but I am wide awake
I can hear the devil call my name

Wasn't worthy ... had to cheat. BB was one of the few bands I would listen to post '00s, but I gave up on music (and TV) after I heard what my kids were listening to.
I have never heard Bieber's voice, or Taylor Swift's (many, many more). Can you frikkin' believe that. Never. Not even in an interview.
