Eyes On: Three Gorges Dam
#1
I saw rumblings over at ATS that the Three Gorges Dam in China is under strain . . . and that there is record rainfall upstream of the dam.

Lots and lots of people downstream from the dam.  Could become a huge disaster.

Looking at some of the satellite pictures the dam is no longer straight . As long as 11 years ago there were complaints about the construction and inferior materials used in the dam. Something like 40 million live down stream would be affected not to mention the huge blackout a dam failure would cause.

One thing about it with all the rain they have been getting this is a supreme test of the damn dam. One smaller dam has already failed and some of the pictures coming out of China are horrible showing all the flood devastation.

Another thing to consider besides the dam breaking are the dams down stream The 3 Gorges dam is releasing 30,000 cubic meters of water every second. The next dam down stream at full release can only release 15,000 as all the other dams down stream .. The 3 gorges dam is huge and the smaller dams can not keep up; expect more flooding down stream..

The satellite pics on google earth and maps are both older ones where it is still straight. Google helping the CCP? wouldn't surprise me one damn bit.
