Another failure of European officialdom
#1
Quote:The phrases “death to white people” and “f... the police” were found written on the side of the building last weekend. Local mayor Ingrid Holemans said that she is taking the statements very seriously and that they are likely connected to the resurgence of the movement inspired by the death of George Floyd at the hands of a white police officer.

“It’s a reaction to what happened in the United States,” Holemans said. She added: “It has to do with the death of George Floyd, the African American who died during a police intervention.”

Seems to me the graffiti is not half as important as the disconnection from reality advertised by the Holemans' statement.  She fails to understand-

* the "go" orders for this activity have nothing to do with George Floyd.  Floyd was a convenient incident for the antifa types to seize upon and exploit.

* that these Leftist groups are linked by the internet.  In the pre-internet age, it would have been very unusual for an American dissident movement to have a European wing of any kind, much less one that moved in lock-step with their style of ideological provocation.

Rather, what this incident reveals is that Belgium is experiencing subversive activity as a result of provocation by foreign agents operating on behalf of interests that are anti-Western and anti-democratic.  What is also clear is that the current generation of politicians are unaware of, and unprepared for, how ideological conflict is conducted today.  Holemans is hardly alone in her naïveté.

Cheers

Communism has a long history of paying for and controlling groups in Europe. All the ban the bomb groups were set up and payed for by the KGB. Russia is no longer communist, communism is now a multinational firm with no known head quarters but lots of "offices" in many countries. This makes it very hard to fight and control. A brave new world and 1984 all rolled into one. Dont worry they have not forgotten animal farm

Wallfire,

Yes, the Baader-Meinhof / RAF group in (then West) Germany during the Cold War had its activities paid for by the KGB and their East German buddies.

There is documentation available on the 'net regarding E German activities that targeted The Netherlands, particularly on issues of military readiness.

The West "won" the ideological conflict that was the Cold War, but was unprepared for what came next.

Cheers
