Happiest country on earth says hello
#1
Quote:In the 2022 World Happiness Report, Finland is the happiest country in the world for the fifth year in a row. For five years straight, starting in 2018, the World Happiness Report has singled out Finland as the happiest country on the planet.

-"Finland is the European country with the most drug-related deaths among people under 25 in proportion to its population, the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction has found."

Another breadline:

-"In 2020, the share of people below the at-risk-of-poverty threshold was 10.9 percent in Finland"

-"In the population of 5.5 million people in Finland, at least 270,000 Finns had experienced problems resulting from their own alcohol use in at least one area of life during the previous year, such as health or economic problems, or problems at home or with one's partner."

-"When asked about exposure to violent crime in a 2020 survey, over four percent of Finns said that they had experienced physical violence in the past 12 months. In 2020, the number of victims of recorded violent and sexual offenses amounted to 67.9 thousand, increasing by almost 31 percent compared to the previous year."

So, feeling like visiting? A vacation here? Okay okay, welcome, but prepare with strong antidepressants.

They stole 9 months of my life.

Unbelievable that they forced me to train myself how to defend this fucking shithole nation. Never gonna forgive.

If u owe me 9 bucks... that can be handled with 9 bucks. If u owe me 9 months, how are u gonna pay it back? SMFH.

Wow, I did not know that.

I came across this Ham Radio Operator and US Expat living in Finland. His channel focuses on portable, off-grid, grid down power and practical ham radio communications for preparedness. The goal is teaching operators to use portable power, HF radios and data mode communications as a utilities for off grid comms or during a grid down scenario at home or in the field.

Wow, I had no idea! I must admit I’ve always wanted to visit Finland, Sweden and Norway. Not in the winter though. I think Wisconsin gets dark in the winter, but Scandinavian countries are dark much longer. That would be so depressing.

Yeah but it is not like the way you think it is.

We get seasonal depression due to long times in darkness. Other times, it is just regular depression.

There is good stuff here. A little bit. I would like you to experience the northern lights and also some of our foods. But mostly, it is really bad. If you know how to look, you see outright despair. I think most Rogues know how to look. But if you base science on some mail in surveys, then we are the happiest country.

Look, if we are the happiest country, i am profoundly disappointed in humankind as a whole. A thoroughly pathetic display. We should all be nuked and fall. minusculebeercheers

I'd like to visit Finland, but never will. it would involve getting on an airplane again, and that will never, ever, happen for me ever again.

I'd like to have a go at some of that ammoniac stuff Finns try to pass off as candy, as well as other bits of Finnish culinary legerdemain..

I might be able to handle Finland for a little while, unlike Iceland. I'd like to visit Iceland too, but could never survive there - I wouldn't be able to eat the stuff they think of as "food", and would surely starve to death.

Steve-n-Seagulls look just like me, talk just like me, act just like me, and sing just like me... so it can't be a BAD place!

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

This is the real deal?

No idea, I'm sure Finn will opine.

I'd like to visit Finland, but as @Ninurta said I'll never fly so I'll have to charter a big private yacht (which I can't afford), and no I won't take a cruise liner either.

Definitely a joke tinybiggrin

First of all, the rally English was just over the top. Rally English is a term for the kind of pronunciation that Finnish rally drivers often use. Very clumsy. He would not have known what is a "swan" if his pronunciation was that bad.

Second of all, the Swedish Löfberg's coffee is great. He chose a good coffee though, i have that exact same currently, but the dark roast version because i like dark roasted coffee more, richer flavor.

And, there is no other country on this planet where people drink as much coffee as here. Not even close. So if you put that kind of an infernal amount of milk, with basically no coffee, we would never reach these numbers:

Rank / Country / Coffee Consumption (Lbs per Person Per Year)

1 Finland 26.45
2 Norway 21.82
3 Iceland 19.84
4 Denmark 19.18

So, while i was amused by the video, it is not the real deal how things work here. It was parody.

Are you sure? I mean it is our candy, yes, and i love it, and many are outright addicted. But it contains ammonium chloride.

Quote:Finland is considered one of the safest countries in the world. The reported crime rate is 98.2 per 1,000 inhabitants. Most of these reported crimes involved property and traffic offenses. In the past couple of years, less than 5% of the population has reported instances of violent crime.

How is this good? Please explain.

It says less than 5% of the population has reported instances of violent crime in the past couple of years. For simplicity, let's say it is 5%

I need to go downtown today. During the morning hours. There will be about 20 people in the bus. Statistically 1 of those persons has experienced violence in the past couple of years.

What about those violent attacks that were never reported to begin with?

What the hell is wrong with humans? This is not a civilization this is a God damn tragedy. tinyshouting

Quote:Parties disagree on fixes for Finland's outsized youth drug death problem

Within Europe, Finland has the most drug-related fatalities among people aged 25 and under, in proportion to its population.

https://yle.fi/a/3-12675219

Quote:The nationalist Finns Party has called for the deportation of foreigners convicted of drug dealing. Meanwhile, the party's parliamentary group chair, Ville Tavio, said he was against establishing monitored drug consumption rooms that proponents say reduce accidental overdose deaths.

Tavio said that zero-tolerance policies deter drug use and prevent crime.

I am not even going to comment. I am just going to glue my hand into my forehead so i can make an eternal facepalm.

Quote:The Christian Democrats also share a hard line policy about drugs. Its parliamentary group chair, Päivi Räsänen, said she thinks decriminalisation and drug use rooms are a bad idea.

"Decriminalising drug use and setting up drug rooms would be a message that drug use is not harmful," she said.

Päivi Räsänen herself, is a walking bad idea. But she is a doctor. Doctors hate drug users. Trust me, i know.

Of course drug use can be harmful. That is exactly why we need to decriminalize the use of them, and set up drug rooms.

We need these boomers out of politics before they murder us all.

We literally have murderers and rapists on the loose out there.

And then the cops spend their time busting stoners who sit on their couch, eating potato chips and watching netflix.

How does this make any fucking sense? tinyshouting

Media says crisis hotlines are currently extremely busy, sometimes unable to answer at all. Mostly people are fucked up because they could not afford to pay the massive electricity bills, and now their electricity has been cut off. Add to this the PLANdemic, and the war in Europe. Happiness is just raining from the sky as unicorns come and kiss us gently on the cheek here. People are shooting themselves. People are shooting their families. People are shooting random people.

This is how we do things here, in the happiest country on earth.
