Rough Guides, the leading publisher of travel and reference guides, tasked its readers to choose the top 20 most beautiful countries in the world, and Scotland came out on top, ahead of Canada and New Zealand. The website said: “Who can deny that these wild beaches, deep lochs and craggy castles are some of the most wonderful and beautiful sights in the world?”

In regards of the weather, I heard it's turn the knob two clicks to left and then
one to the left. Press 'A' -for Arizona and you're supposed to get sunshine.

However, I'm not too-far from where you are, Big Man... and I think 'A' stands
for 'Arctic'!

But apart from there.... and the New Towns.... and parts of the cities.... and a lot of the Lowlands.... it's not bad!

that the mainstream media tends to report on in the same 'steady manner' that doesn't

Take Forest Gate for example, a residential district in East London, England, in the London
Borough of Newham.

Fears of chemical or biological attack triggered terror raid.
*Man shot as 250 police swoop on London home.
*Two men arrested after MI5 surveillance operation.

'The raid on an east London house in which police shot a man yesterday was carried out because
intelligence suggested that a viable chemical or biological weapon could be inside, according to
counter-terrorism sources.

More than 250 officers swooped on the house in the early hours, after a two-month surveillance
operation led by MI5. Security sources say the timing of the raid was dictated by fears that an
attack on a British target using an unconventional weapon could be staged soon.

The shot man and a man believed to be his brother were arrested under the Terrorism Act.

Anti-terrorism police in protective suits were combing the house in Forest Gate for evidence of
chemical or biological material to establish whether the intelligence gathered by the security
services was correct.
The Health Protection Agency said the risk to the public from harmful substances was considered
to be "very low".

Up to 11 people, all believed to have Bengali backgrounds, were inside the house when it was raided,
and a 23-year-old man was shot by police during a scuffle on the stairs. He was hit in the shoulder by

Champion Ganda murder: Teenager stabbed repeatedly.

'A teenager who was killed on an east London street had suffered multiple knife wounds, police have said.
Champion Ganda, 17, was attacked on Sandringham Road, Forest Gate, on Thursday afternoon.

A post-mortem examination found he had been stabbed a number of times, with a fatal wound to the chest.
Two people aged 17 and one 18-year-old, have been arrested on suspicion of murder and are in custody.
A 21-year-old arrested has been released on bail.

A 16-year-old who was also stabbed in the attack has now been discharged from hospital.
Det Ch Insp Dave Whellams said: "At this stage it appears there was an altercation between the two victims
and another group.
"We encourage any witnesses or anyone with information on the incident to come forward."...'

'Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Norwich Road, Forest Gate, shortly after 2pm on June 13.
A 39-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of GBH and affray. 
Police have arrested a man on suspicion of GBH after a stabbing yesterday afternoon...'

Murder investigation launched after teenager shot in Maryland.

'Officers were called to reports of shots being fired in Well Street, near Maryland station, at about 10.40pm yesterday.
A 19-year-old was taken to hospital where he later died.

Police are in the process of informing his next of kin and both formal identification and a post-mortem examination will
take place in due course. Detectives from the Homicide and Major Crime Command are investigating.
There have been no arrests and enquiries continue...'

Forest Gate Protest: Hotelier Feared For His Life During Riot.

'A demonstration over the death of a man who had been stopped by police turned violent last night, leaving six police
officers injured. Bins were set alight and bricks were thrown at riot police during the confrontations.

The hotelier told LBC: "I was very fearful. There were protests going on, which started at 7:30pm and went until four
in the morning. "They wanted access to the police station and from there, the police escorted them over here.

"They were burning cars, all sorts of things. Throwing bricks, beer bottles.
"I haven't seen anything like this before."...'

Two men from Newham are jailed for killing Raja Ali from Elm Park in Dagenham.

'Two men have been jailed for a total of 27 years for the brutal killing of a man who was beaten and stabbed 13 times.
Raja Ali, 33, from Elm Park, died after he was chased and killed by Abubaker Omar-Bana, 26, of Rochford Close,
East Ham, and Jordon Archambie, 20, of Hesketh Road, Forest Gate.

Last week both were found guilty of his manslaughter and on Monday Omar-Bana was jailed for 15 years and
Archambie was handed down a 12 year sentence.

Jurors heard Raja, who has a six-year-old daughter, was knifed 13 times and beaten with a variety of weapons including
a hammer, metal poles, baseball bats during the brutal attack on September 25 last year.

Zakar Yunas, 22, of Rokeby Street, Stratford, Mussa Jalo, 21, of Norfolk Road, Dagenham, and Daniel Paul Welch, 34,
of Winstead Gardens, Dagenham, were all convicted of violent disorder.

Yunas was jailed for four years and Jalo and Welch were sentenced to three years.
The court heard claims Raja, a suspected drug dealer, was killed on the order of another dealer due to a dispute.
He was lured to his death by a fake deal...'

Forest Gate shooting: Boys, 14 and 17, seriously injured.

'A 14-year-old boy is in a critical condition in hospital and a 17-year-old has suffered "life-changing" injuries
in a double shooting in east London.
Police were called on Monday afternoon to Moore Walk, Forest Gate, and found the two teenagers with
gunshot wounds.

The Metropolitan Police said there were "serious concerns" of retaliation and put extra officers on the streets.
Inquiries are continuing. No arrests have been made...'
