I'm supposed to be pragmatic and look for a more down-to-earth reason for all of this
strangeness!

How would it look if I was seen calling out well-rounded descriptive words of reasoning
whilst being dragged by the heels towards a pulsing craft and a waiting alien wearing a
long rubber glove!
