Facebook Censorship has hit home
#1
Well well well. In this thread, the topic of Facebook and Google censorship reared it's head.

Now I've been censored on Facebook myself.

People who know me know that I don't take to being censored, having my thoughts erased from the web, lightly. Remember the Judy Faltskog/ Wayne Herschel saga? Yeah, already been there and done that... and I prevailed.

The Facebook Saga started when a bunch of leftists were blowing up my Facebook page with incoherent ranting. Now, I let that slide for a long while, figuring it was a good thing to allow them to vent their emotions, hoping that they might be able to regain (or finally arrive at) logical thought at some point. That hasn't happened yet, and enough is enough.

Last night, I was scrolling down my Facebook page and encountered post after post by one particular leftist, who was posting on about a 2 to 3 minute interval, just spamming the crap out of my page. That was my breaking point, and iI went on a counter offensive. Nothing particularly virulent or irrational - folks who know me also know that I prefer to counter irrationality with cold hard logic. I've never, ever lost that way.... but I HAVE been censored for it when the opposition could not muster any coherent thoughts, and demanded my logic countering their emotion to be removed.

Now, once again.

Unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately, depending on which side of the censorship fence one stands), they didn't get it zapped from my computer. Therefore, I'm going to repost the exchange here so that Facebook has no control over it, and my thoughts will not be erased from the internet as was their nefarious intent. You be the judge as to whether or not it should have been removed.

The initial post, posted by me, was this:

(if the attachment does not appear here, it must have gone to the bottom of the page - see it there, while I try to figure out how to get it into this space)

That was it - no comments, no nothing. I thought the image would speak for itself.

Along comes the leftist in question, and it was on. She posted this (names redacted):

Quote:No, she should stay there so the con man cannot replace her with a nutty racist bigot.

long on emotion and name calling, short on logic and coherent discourse. The Left had taken the bait. I responded with this:

Quote:"racist" is and has been for several years now in the eye of the beholder. It has become a meaningless word, just another epithet to be thrown around in an attempt to shame one's opponents into silence. Because it has been so overused and misused, it has lost all plausible meaning in the modern world, and appears not to be working any more to stifle opposition. Sorry 'bout that.

and then, as an afterthought, also added this:

Quote:"Nutty" ( a purely subjective term) and "bigot" are fast catching up to it. All of them are used in place of a logical argument, and represent an epic fail, a breakdown of coherent thought.

Now, some time when I was formulating my next thought, and before I could post it, Facebook saw fit to censor the above. they went so far as to erase the original meme from the internet altogether, it appears - at least I couldn't find it again with a Google search, and had to rescue the image via a screen capture. Anyhow, the next post did not make it to Facebook, so I'm going to post it here for posterity:

Quote:And, personally, I'd prefer all my judges, to include Supreme Court Justices, to be honorable people. Honor starts with an ability to keep one's word. If a judge makes me a promise, I want that judge to keep that promise. Not my fault if that judge doesn't think ahead, and is prone to rash decisions and comments. One would think that to be an undesirable trait in a judge - whose judgement we should be able to rely on - all by itself.

So there it is, my first censored post from Facebook. I don't see anything there that stands in need of censorship. perhaps you do. If so, kindly inform me as to where I went off the rails.

Funny how Facebook doesn't mind erasing MY posts from MY page, and is still allowing the leftist spammer's posts to stand. That is not reflective of a Republic, nor even reflective of a Democracy. It smacks of heavy-handed dictatorship...

... which is, after all, exactly what the Left is after. The proof is in their actions.

I rest my case.

Postscript: I fully expect my Facebook account will be deleted, as I am going to post this to the top of my Facebook page as a protest. You cannot silence a free man. you can only kill him, even if only electronically.

They dare to censor MY thoughts, but scrolling down the page they have allowed this post to stand:

Now, THAT link is a "sponsored" link, meaning someone has paid Facebook to put it there. Never one to allow nefarious activity to stand in the way of making money, Facebook has allowed it to stay. The problem is, that link takes the unsuspecting to a fake Microsoft website, where it tries to load a trojan on your computer and hold your Windows hostage, demanding your WINDOWS user name and password for "authentication". Your Windows password has nothing to do with access to any "news" websites. They have their own authentication when it's required.

They deign to censor my free speech, while allowing hackers unfettered access to your computer.

Welcome to The Brave New World. I doubt even trump can fix that. That's going to be up to US.

I see nothing wrong at all in your post.

I wonder if they will remove this thread when I post it?  We are about to find out.  Hee-hee!   tinylaughing

I've never ventured into those places and I can only hope I never will.

That said, Facebook's treatment of you is endemic of the PC Police that
seems to have an agenda to stifle those who haven't yet agreed to put
their heads up their respective asses.

What always makes me shake my head is the knowledge that when this
seemingly Government-endorsed social experiment goes tits-up, it'll be
people like yourself that they will seek safety behind.

Calling people names with a smirk on your face doesn't really fare well
on the battlefield and announcing that you are titling someone with a
buzzword does not alter a falling scimitar or high-velocity bullet.

I know it's ignorant of me and means nothing really, but you're best
out of it. Facebook will rue this when the experiment is over.

I hope not. Considering myself to have already done my part for King and Country, I might just go fishing if it all goes to hell in a hand basket, and leave them to their own devices to sort it out amongst themselves.

Quote:Calling people names with a smirk on your face doesn't really fare well

Aye. In the words of Gary Moore, "no flag or uniform ever stopped a bullet from a gun". It's not enough to just scream "REVOLUTION!" without preparation, although at times the peasants really CAN be pretty revolting - nonetheless, no battle plan ever survives first contact, and they'll have to find that out on their own.

Eh, I've never been able to really keep myself out of anything - I'm sure you of all people recall that wild ride on Judy and Wayne's dime! It's a character flaw that rears it's ugly head when stupidity challenges me to a duel. Facebook may well rue the day, but I don't think they've gotten their stuff quite together enough to even have a real plan yet. Their stated plan is to censor "fake news outlet advertising", yet what they did in reality was to censor a private citizen's post, and brazenly allow advertising from a "news outlet" so fake that it tries to load a trojan on computers of the unsuspecting in order to phish for their passwords.

What passes for Capitalism in the modern age - ain't it great?

Sounds like that alt-left nutjob reported your azz, for having opposing views, therefore she found it "offensive"....pfffft.

For the Left to claim to be tolerant group of people, I have decided that couldn't be farther from the truth.

They are bullies towards those who do not believe/think as they do and resort to name calling in efforts to shut the other person down.

They play the same childish insulting game when it comes to global warming too.

You really want to get on the Dems nerves? tinyok

Speak out against global warming........oh yeah, that would do it just as quick as your meme did on FB. LOL.

I do recall the antics of James.... er, Judy and the South African Von Daniken-wannabe, but sadly without
great affection. Facebook's conduct may well lie not too-far away from what they were up to.
(I'm still sure my Username stuck in their craw!)

Facebook and Google's attempts control the narratives of recent events failed miserably and it seems they
may have to double-down on their machinations of social management. Those who loudly relate that the
Emperor's pudenda can be viewed due to his lack of attire are the ones they seem to be going after first.
Consider yourself a rebel, Nin!

I wish I could call it a generation that hasn't woken up yet to the contrivances of the self-assuming elite,
but I fear that the systems of education have taken their toll and they believe this behavior is the norm.

One can only take solace in the fact that when the bunker door closes, those left to face whatever crappy
situation these power-hungry goblins have created, will finally understand that they were never actually
part of the 'gang'!!

Well, she's right in a way - I AM pretty offensive. As a matter of fact, I just went on the offensive again this evening against a Laotian whom I suspect to be an old-guard Pathet Lao, who mysteriously appears to support her rants with some leftist rants of his own. More of the same, long on emotional bullshit, short on logic. I finally had enough of him, too, so I made a tight little response to the effect that he ain't got anything to worry about, since Trump is president-elect of the US, not Laos, and most Americans really haven't given Laos much thought since we rescued a bunch of refugees from the Pathet Lao wars in Laos in the 1970's. I knew some of those refugees personally. Lovely people who committed the crime of not wanting to be murdered and wantonly slaughtered by a bunch of communists for the crime of just not being communist.

Anyhow, she jumped to the Lao's defense, not terribly effectively though. I just got another ding, but haven't had time to go read it to see what's being said now.

I could give a shit what he does with his own country, but his opinion doesn't count for much in mine unless he can string together a coherent thought at some point - which hasn't happened yet..

Oh, they're tolerant all right, except for... wait a minute! Doesn't that "except for" kinda turn tolerance into an oxymoron?

Oh, that's coming. They'll shit gold bricks, but in the end all they'll do is accuse me of working undercover for the fossil fuel industry when they can't counter cold hard logic and fact any other way. Been through that a couple dozen times already.

Well hell, it's late and I'm bored, so I'll just post that little exchange here as well, since it's probably going to get zapped again, too. You don't need to read this TL/DR version if you don't want to - I'm really just placing it here for posterity on the likely chance that Facebook zaps this one, too.

It starts out with the Laotian's rant (all the caps are his - I reckon that must signify anger or something):

Quote:YES, IT IS THE BIGGEST MISTAKE OR FAULT OF THE THE AMERICAN VOTERS WHO HAD VOTED FOR THE UNFIT AND RACIST CANDIDATE TO BE THE US FIRST RADICAL, IGNORANT, RACIST AND ERRATIC PERSON LIKE MR. DONALD TRUMP TO BE US PRESIDENT WHO HAS BEEN ACTIVELY AND IRRATIONALLY DESTROYING AMERICAN DEMOCRACY, JUSTICE, FREEDOMS AND VALUES...TO WEAKEN US SUPERPOWER AND INTEGRITY AND DIGNITY AND TO DISINTEGRATE THE USA AND US GOVERNMENT INTO POLITICAL PIECES WHICH WILL EVENTUALLY LEAD TO POLITICAL UPHEAVALS AND DISASTERS, ETC. DURING THE NEXT 4 YEARS....!!! MRS. DONALD TRUMP HAS REINCARNATED THE KKK'S, NAZI HITLER'S AND OTHER FAR-RIGHT RADICAL GROUPS IN THE USA AND ALSO SPREADING IN THE WESTERN NATIONS AND IN OTHER PARTS OF THE WORLD BECAUSE OF THE BIGGEST AND THE FAULTS OF SOME OF THE AMERICAN RACIST VOTERS... IF US PRESENT-ELECT DONALD TRUMP AND HIS RACIST GOVERNMENT OFFICIALS GIVE THE CHANCES TO THESE GROUPS... IT WILL BE WORSE THAN THE IS' GROUPS IN SYRIA AND IRAQ....!!! GOD KNOWS IT WELL...!!!

Ignore that it's a wall of angry test - just look at how bad Trump has already damaged us, and he ain't even in office yet! I probably ought to be crapping myself by now... (yawn)... I like how he's hit almost every single one of the Leftist talking points that Hillary's people were issuing every morning to the Social Network Warriors, though! Extra points for that! Shouldn't be bringing God into it, though - as folks say around here, "better call on someone that knows ya!" Maybe his god IS a politician, though - who knows? It takes all kinds, I reckon.

So, that rant long on talking point fluff and short on thought or logic got under my skin a bit, because I generally find purveyors of hate and fear to be disagreeable to my normally calm demeanor, and I responded with this:

Quote:I don't think you have anything to worry about - Trump is president-elect of the US, not Laos. Most Americans haven't even given Laos a second thought since we took in all those refugees from the Pathet Lao wars in the 1970's, when the leftists were murdering their own people wholesale. We saved a bunch of them from the communists. You're welcome.

Now I don't think I went off the rails there or anything, but I suppose he might get offended at a furriner reminding him of his own history, so there's that.

Then the original poster jumped into the fray with this, directed at me:

Quote:However, you do not have to live in America to know the scumball that was elected. Every country except Russia and the North Korea Dictator disapprove of the racist bigot con man.

Is "scumball" some type of technical term? I dunno, I never ran across it in logic or debating classes, so I just don't know. I'm probably just not educated enough to see the chain of logic there. Aren't there, like, 247 countries in the world, or something close to that? How scary is it that ALL of them except two are hell bent for leather against Trump? Hell fire! He'd better get to closing those borders off pronto, before the whole, WORLD (except two countries) comes to rescue the Socialists and take him out of office!

I was a little dubious of the "logic" employed there, and may have overstepped my boundaries in my reply to it:

Quote:Fair enough. Everyone has their own opinion, mine just happens to differ from that of the Pathet Lao. I've not done a survey of world governments - there are quite a few, more than I care to make a blanket statement about, but I will say that of all the people I personally know overseas, I've not yet spoken with a single one put out by the election results. All of them, to a person, were scared Hillary might win, especially since she already had a track record of instigation young wars, and all of them on the wrong side. No that DID scare the feathers out of them.

Any overseas folk reading this, I apologize. I didn't mean to speak FOR you, but it was the general gist of what I've been hearing here and there among the rabble of foreign nations, as opposed to their sterling, shining, Globalist leaders. I figure the little man ought to have a voice as well as the guys controlling the world stage, y'know?

So then the original instigator responds again with this:

Quote: I have listened for months to many foreign leaders that were very frightened of a trump win. Have not heard of one that approved of trump except Putin and the North Korean Dictator. Of course they will be gracious to him after elected but that does not mean they like him from all that I have read. They are far and free between that approve of the con man.

A couple things to notice here - she's only talking about "world leaders", not the commoners, and who really gives a crap if they LIKE him? I have a strong suspicion that, like me, Mr. Trump was not placed on this planet to be liked - he gets stuff done, and of course there are going to be grumblers in the crowd that won't like it. I could give a shit - they can stay where they are if they don't like it. I've got no terrible urge to break bread with Globalists anyhow.

At this point, the Laotian tags back in in this tag-team match against me saying:

Quote:When you have talked with the radical white supremacists... like you are talking with the members of the KKK's and Nazis-Hitlerite's leaders and their members...they are always think/believe they are the most superior or special human kinds on this earth...because they hate other races with different colors from them...I know it well because I have been living in North America for more than 25 years and I had been to more than 46 States in the USA...!!!

Now, from this I take it he thinks I've never encountered any of them, since he's willing to explain to my uneducated self just how those loons think. That's encouraging, that he knows I live in America, yet thinks I've never encountered a White Supremacist. I guess maybe he really knows they aren't as common as he's letting on they are. But HE, oh HE knows it well because he's lived in North America for 25 years! Hell fire, I've got socks older than that! I guess maybe he's hung out in some pretty scary places, then - probably cities, where leftists run rampant. Imagine that - he's encountered White Supremacists in Liberal strongholds! Let's let that sink in for just a minute...

So I fired back another shot, and that's where it stands at the moment:

Quote:Talked to a lot of them have you? Nevertheless you are right, that is what they believe - when you can find one. They are vanishingly few and getting fewer. I know this for fact because I have been eye to eye and toe to toe with some of them, and it was a hard hunt to find them. No one has successfully pointed out what that has to do with Trump, however. In none of Trump's speeches, public or private, has anyone been able to point to anything approaching the white supremacist rhetoric. If it were there, they would have found it by now. It's nothing more than a fear tactic, and I do not live by fear. I've lived in the US for 55 years, 30 more than you've spent in all of north America, and have been a few other places as well. I've seen the worst men have to offer, and it gives me hope seeing that there are those around who obviously have not, or they wouldn't be so fearful of the insignificancies that keep them awake at night. It lets me know that I've done my job right if they've never seen anything scarier than this.

Two of them tag-teaming me, and no one has laid a glove on me so far. This is a little like shooting fish in a barrel...

... so I'm bored now.

No problems as my proxy-voice!.
The 'Elitism Knows Best' kool-aid that many around the world have been chugging down demands that
they believe the standard man-in-the-street could never appreciate the nuances and diplomacy used in
high politics. The European Union employees have been banging the same bell for years.

Could you or I make the same or better decisions for their nations as those currently making them?
I could because I know life is simple, it just takes honesty and integrity.
Something that this FB tag-team seems to lack.

Again, with the constant massaging from the education system, the mainstream media, I agree
with your view that when discussing political change with certain people, it's all about an emotional
perception of life.

Somehow, recent generations have come to believe the whole world plays with a doll-house in their
bedroom. The internet talks of death and horror, but this group of global residents think that reality
is the same. If they don't like the terrible things going on, you type in capitals and then through their
tears, switch it off to make it go away.
Reality has no 'Off' switch... you've jut got to put your helmet and pads and get in there.

Is this a movie?! The Nazi Party -the quasi-religious part of it believed they had more in common

I have to admit... and it's important. My wife won't let me keep socks for that long.

Stop picking on the kids, Nin...! The establishment have been feeding this kind of crap to them for
so long that when someone who doesn't see themselves as a victim that worries about their feelings
wanders into their echo-playpen, they see you as a terrible dinosaur that believes in a long-ago ideal
of self-responsibility and you become a threat to them.

Great post and keep fishing!
