This is the greatest aspect of the post modern dilemma, it's all been done before, there is nothing new under the Sun.

The way we do things might change, we have new technologies and access to generations of knowledge, but what we do never changes. There can be no new creativity of any real consequence, so no matter what great achievements we seem to make, we've reached the end of our creative potential as a species. The most that happens is post modern chaos, break all the standards and social taboos, mix it all up and see what comes out at the end. As you have stated, an end that is fast approaching.
