I think what Enoch say was the Atmosphere of Earth and from space it looks like a clear/blueish dome.

Now, I think the Race that all our ancestors speak of creating our Oceans and Land Masses must have also built our moon, there are historical account that our ancestors talk about earth without the moon.
Our Moon Controls our Tides, it is needed I think for Life To Flourish.
