So here is the bitter irony of it all.

Of all American sub-cultures, the military has been among, if not the most, inclusive, for going on SEVENTY YEARS now.

Men and women.  Whites, blacks, "browns", Native Americans, Pacific Islanders, you name it.

Despite various policies, lesbians, gays, and bisexual people as well.  They were always there regardless of how open they were about their sexual orientation.

Know what?  The military made it work.  We all worked together and played together.  When we had disputes, it was about the quality of work or leadership more than anything else.  It was -not- cut along ethnic, gender, religious, or other common lines of conflict.

That's why all of this "wokeness" from the SecDef and the Biden admin is so God-damned tone-deaf.  The military is practically already an ideal socialist society.  Everyone knows, to a close degree, how much anyone else in the military earns: the pay tables are public record.  Everyone understands the requirements for promotion, career progression, and how to achieve one of the most generous retirements in the American system.  The different groups get along and work well together.  The bases have closed economic systems with one general merchandise store and one food store.  No competing firms on base.  As I said, it is VERY socialist.

So what the f*** does the admin really want from the military?  It isn't a closer approach to socialism; the military, for its own reasons, is already there.

This crap is just another divisive move.  Various groups will be prodded and provoked to feel they have been abused and exploited, and the unity of the ranks will be shattered.

No.  None of this is a joke, even if the opening post of this thread was couched in sour humor.

What amazes me is that a former commanding general of the 18th Airborne Corps is presiding over all of this bullshit.  Unreal, in many ways.
