Going Galt

A bit OT, but people have seen the first stage of control, steel the vote, news controlled, social media controlled. Now one has to look to Sweden to see the next move. Banks in Sweden have closed bank accounts of news papers that have all the permits and fully legal because they are seen as "right wing".
So next is your bank account closed or restricted, your phone provider closing your phone account. 
Dont even start thing about your power and water.
With power like this "going Galt " will have no effect at all on the government, same as it would have no effect on any sodalist state.

Because of banks, power companies and phone companies? I'm not sure I follow you - If we are no longer using or supporting them, why would we care that they are no longer using or supporting us?

I stopped feeding the credit card companies in 1993. I don't use credit at all, and what's more, I don't even miss it. I closed my bank accounts in 2008, and I don't miss them, either. I have a phone that I never use, so I can't imagine missing it, either. I do still use electricity, but I grew up without it, and know that I won't miss it much, either. If it was something I just had to have, I don't see why I couldn't put up a couple of windmills or a water turbine in the stream to generate enough for my own use - some folks here have done that and generate more than they need, and have a surplus to sell to the power company.

So I'm not understanding why or how removing their power over me gives them more power over me?

It affects the government because fewer people using their "services", and especially fewer people contributing to their "services" put a bigger burden on them to maintain themselves without our support. It can't help but have a negative effect on them, but that is their own damned fault for growing themselves beyond their own abilities. In making themselves "indispensable", they have created the need to dispense with them until they are back down to a manageable level.
