Where is it all going?

A lot of people said that at the start of WW2, indeed when I was young very young I remember some old people saying the same. People want to live in the past they remember as its a safe place because they know what has happened. Living today and wondering what will happen tomorrow is hard and frighting. People have lived through a hell of a lot worse that what is happening now, just that we have not so it seems so bad.
Like the old saying says.
A few years ago I was watching an army parade, as the young men and women marched past a deep feeling of sadness filled me, the guns were different, the camo was different but the faces were the same.
Everything changes and stays the same

I would tend to only agree to a certain extent with that. My step-dad (in his 90s) is one of the handful of remaining WW2 veterans. He still suffers with PTSD and wakes up screaming and in a cold sweat regularly even all of these years later. Even he is afraid of what is happening in the USA now. He says he has never seen this country so close to a civil war and he's extremely glad that he and Mom live out in the country and not in the city.
