I think we're in for decades of urban guerilla activity once the rioting / looting / arson settles down.

Sorry if I repeat myself.  Germany went through something very similar in the 1970s and 1980s.  Affluent white youth who were taken with Marxism and who thought they could topple their government through violent action.  Those youth, too, had their sources of funding.  And in fact, their movement only fell apart upon German unification, because it was the East German government that was funding the activity of those groups in West Germany.

I'll say one thing in favor of the black radicals of the 1960s and 1970s.  At least some of them were bold enough to emigrate -- guys like Stokely Carmichael went to Guinea to live out his idea of an African dream.  But the discontented crew we have now (I mean white Antifa operators) don't want to emigrate to a communist country like China; they want to be the 2% that forces the 98% to do their bidding.

This all may have been predictable.  In hindsight (= LONG VIEW), the sudden fall of the Berlin Wall was a huge indication that massive change was upon us.  But the "elites" in the USA grasped neither the implications nor the opportunities of that moment.  Not knowing what else to do, they kept us on the same glide path we had followed during the Cold War.  Now, 30 years later, generations have grown up with no connection to those times and no connection to any kind of heritage.  What to do?  Burn everything down and see what rises from the ashes.
