We should frame the debate that way.
I will disagree with your statement just because I am an American first, a Cherokee second and we are not the epitome of a racist country, we are an example of a country that isn't...
As for who is a patriot?
I am.
I swore an oath once to protect this country from all enemies, foreign and domestic.
I wrote a blank check for my life to fulfill that.
I didn't walk out of that oath when I left the service.
I'm not going to go batshit crazy and start mowing down people anywhere.
HOWEVER.
When it comes time to DEFEND my country, I am right here with the same check in hand.
Or as my uncle says when asked how he lost his arm in Viet Nam, he replies...
"I didn't LOSE an arm. I GAVE one."
Happy Independence Day.
Respect to you and your uncle
Kaepernick shit on his cause the moment he knelt at the American flag from my standpoint.
The American flag doesn't represent police any more than it does engineers, trash collectors, or doctors.
Furthermore, he used his employment to further his cause. I sure as shit couldn't waltz into my place of employment and start lobbying politically lol, they'd call me into the office, write me up, and say "do that shit on your own time."
