Friday's Shoutbox

I have used it right from the start. I think it is a good idea. Masks are not a good idea. "Vaccines" are not a good idea. But hand sanitizer is common sense. You leave your home, maybe touch an elevator button. Door handle of the store. The corona could be in your hands. Then you just walk into the store like nothing. It takes literally about 1.5 seconds to use the sanitizer, and the people who do not give a fuck about doing so, are the exact same people who are first in line when new boosters are given. Exact same people who ride their moral high horses, virtue signaling their moral superiority with their useless masks, on their crusade to save the universe. And i am the bad guy here?

Logic? Where are you?

Finn, hand sanitizer is better than nothing, but good handwashing with plain old soap and water is the option of choice.

Quote:There are important differences between washing hands with soap and water and using hand sanitizer. Soap and water work to remove all types of germs from hands, while sanitizer acts by killing certain germs on the skin. Although alcohol-based hand sanitizers can quickly reduce the number of germs in many situations, they should be used in the right situations. Soap and water are more effective than hand sanitizers at removing certain kinds of germs like norovirus, Cryptosporidium, and Clostridioides difficile, as well as chemicals. https://www.cdc.gov/handwashing/hand-sanitizer-use.html

Hand sanitizers also may not remove harmful chemicals, such as pesticides and heavy metals like lead.
Handwashing reduces the amounts of all types of germs, pesticides, and metals on hands. Knowing when to clean your hands and which method to use will give you the best chance of preventing sickness.

My hands are a mess. I wash my hands about a hundred times a day, even though half the time I am wearing gloves. I learned from working with infectious disease specialists, that good handwashing technique with soap and water is far more effective at keeping you safe and free of illness than just gloves or hand sanitizer. I rarely get sick. I have not had a respiratory sickness since 2009, and I got that doozy from a three month old infant on a respirator that I was taking care of in a hospital. She was the tiniest and cutest little thing I had ever seen.

Anyway, hand sanitizer when out and about, but wash your hands every time you get a chance.

My medical advice for today. tinyinlove
