What is a human? What characteristics and behaviors are common, intrinsic, ingrained, and innate?
Can humans be humane to all humans, when being human comes with so much ugly baggage?
We have to make a concerted effort, we have to work hard, and sacrifice much, to fight off the true center of what comes with being human.
I don't think we have the numbers required to turn the ship around. It would be like trying to keep water in the form of ice, while carrying it in your hand as you try to walk across the desert. Without some additional measures, the ice will return to it's natural state.
Just my opinion.
