Iceland is an island and DAMN!
#2
Some of my ancestors were the original settlers of Iceland. I have often wondered what evils in the rest of the world prompted them to settle in such a bleak and unforgiving landscape.

Now you've answered that question! thank you!

Iceland sits directly on the fault between the North American and European tectonic plates. as a result, Iceland is growing by about an inch a year as the Atlantic Ocean widens by that amount each year, pushing those plates apart. There is a crack in Iceland where one can go to and stand in the middle, with North America on one side and Europe on the other side of that gash in the landscape. It's that tectonic activity pushing the plates apart that gives Iceland it's volcanoes.

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’
