Creepy Face in Doorframe
#5
Them folks sure do get spooked easy.

Now, the "face" looked to me a lot like a skull wearing a hood. But the important part was it was "peeping". hiding and peeking. That means that, whatever it is, if it is some sort of entity, it's not too sure of itself, and acting pretty fearful. The ONLY power it has is to scare, and if he gets skeert like he did, that gives it more power than is warranted. Just tell it to go the hell away if it makes you uncomfortable. Right out loud. Take control of your house - it's YOUR house, not the spook's. Take ownership of it, don't hand it over.

I usually don't run them off unless they get too bothersome. Spooks gotta have a place to "be", too.

Also, notice how it waited for him to be gone before rearranging the kitchen. A bold spook, sure of itself, will do that shit right in front of your eyes. Just another indication of it's weakness. That spook seems more scared of him than he ought to be of it.

Those "experts" either don't know shit about spooks, or else they were just amping it up for the TV audience.

Yesterday morning, I got up and a drawer in the living room had been pulled out of a cabinet of some kind in here. I asked Grace what she was looking for, and she denied pulling it out, and pointed out that she is mostly bedridden for the past few days. So, she denied pulling the drawer out, and I know I didn't do it - and if either of us had, we would probably have pushed it back in anyhow when we got done searching it... and ain't nobody else living here. So, I'm guessing it was just a "hi, I'm here" sort of thing. Now, I could have got scared shitless, or I could have just said "Huh. How 'bout that." and went on with my day. I chose the latter course of action. Ain't no spook gonna scare me off.

Don't let spooks scare you. That gives them more power over you than they have coming to them, creepy faces or not. I mean, I'm not real pretty to look at either, so I reckon I can scare them as bad as they can scare me if push comes to shove!

P.S. - It's true that most critters, people included, never look up, so hiding "above" is always the best option for hiding, in general. That's why tree stands work for deer - they never look up, either!

Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’
