For example, farmers must pay their land taxes, else the government sends men with guns to take it. This means that no one truly owns anything at all, we just rent it from the government. Refuse to pay that rent, and see how fast you get evicted. So, farmers would have to send a certain amount of their produce to cities, just enough to cover their tax burdens. No one can barter with government to pay their taxes... or can they? That depends entirely on how your local government can be persuaded to feel about it, I suppose.
If you have no income, then of course the Federal and State governments cannot tax you on income you do not have. How does government tax a beet? What monetary value does it have when it's just bartered? How do they fill out your tax forms for you? "Johnny traded 5 beets for a slab of stone for his walkway"?
If you do not buy things that are manufactured in cities or overseas, then they will have to find their income elsewhere. Rural folks have it all over city folks in that regard - we can, mostly, live without things they produce, but they cannot live without the food we produce. If they think they can, then more power to them - we'll do just fine, Jack, at small local farmer's markets.
More importantly, they will have to find the tax revenue to keep up their urban useless eaters elsewhere. How long do you suppose hungry urbanites will continue to support their Fearless Leaders? Things might get a little rough there, but it IS exactly what they asked for!
Industry will start going back overseas the instant BidenHarris start to onerously tax them, and that is coming. When industry returns overseas, it takes jobs with it, and that will further reduce the income tax signature of the People government is leeching from. Social media and Legacy Media, champions of the Socialists, will watch revenue fall when no one uses them any more, and so if their revenue falls, so will their tax payments to the government. If they no longer have an income tax from the Proletariat, because the Proletariat no longer makes any money, whatever WILL they do for taxes?
