"Bring that woman to justice.." The Armored Barron looked out angrily at the third moon, "Or toss my peoples only hope for a cure.. A gamble.."
"Sir.." Colonel Pike whispered in the Captain's ear, "We only need two days of leave.. Authorize it.."
"Colonel.. Denied.. No shore leave.. " Captain Ringo responded tapping his badge, "Captain Ringo to Captain LaForge, Admiral Riker, Captain Calhoun, And admiral Uhura.."
"Captain Ringo.. You were supposed to be in this meeting," Admiral Riker responded.. "Admiral Uhura.. Your Captain.."
"Is MY CAPTAIN," Admiral Uhura sounded pissed.. "Captain Ringo.."
"Mam.. I will not allow Colonel Pike and his men to beam down and engage the enemy.. " Captain Ringo put his hand on The Barron's shoulder, "Nor will allow your people to assualt or aid in any way.."
The Barron looked down as his staff sighed..
"Allow Captain," Admiral Riker growled..
"Admiral, "Calhoun's voice filled the air.. "Wait one.. What are you thinking Ringo.."
"Sir.. You have been a Captain longer then me.. Why in the H3ll should we even bother risking a single life.. I say we mine all around the moon and wait them out.." captain ringo's comment makes the Barron turn his head, "I know odds are they have re-educated members of your people and logically we cant do anything because they will be used as human shields.. "
"Do you have any idea Ringo how long it will take to deploy the mine field.. This is not like DS9, " Admiral Uhura coldly spoke..
"Captain Ringo," LaForge smiled evilly.. "Ensign Riker's paper over the history over mining of the wormhole.. She did not understand how the mines work.. " After a few seconds Geordi starts laughing, "Maybe Captain.. I have been thinking over her suggestion.."
"Geordi," Admiral Riker was confused..
"Your niece wanted to know why they did not start with a set of smaller fields and detonate them," Geordi chuckled.. "Will.. It is YOUR nieces plan.."
"The mine field will replicate itself as we purposely detonate them.." Admiral Uhura seemed enthusiastic, "But will the Barron object.."
The Armored barron held up his hand, "This minefield.. It will stop invisible ships.. And.. It just means I have to accept that.."
"Theb's mother will either kill them when we attack or she will keep them as shields.. So either way we take the road less travelled," Ringo takes a deep breath.. "No offense Admiral Riker.. The titan's command staff are not fighters.. I further suggest me and Calhoun play zone defense.. Colonel Pike.. I am going to split your command.. Half to the Titan.. Half to the USS Challenger.."
"Captain ringo.. Their," riker stops..
"Will.." Admiral Uhura softly spoke, "If the So'Ju'Swor will come.. We start laying the mine field I.."
"Mam.. I must insist you either sit on the planet with the embassy or leave the area," Captain Ringo coldly stated..
"Admiral Uhura," the Barron spoke excitedly.. "I will personally escort the Representation of the Federation.." The barron looked at his advisors, "Captain Ringo intends to either starve out the enemy.. Or make them come to us.. "
The Advisors start speaking excitedly with each other..
One of the non-armored men, scarred and missing a hand, in plain clothes steps forward, "Barron.. May I speak with Colonel Pike.. I need to know what surprises the enemy might.."
"If the Admiral Agree's," Ringo holds his hand up..
"I am not real comfortable with MACO personnel firing their weapons in my," LaForge is interrupted..
"Captain LaForge.. Lt. Purie had the same complaints.. " Colonel Pike Rest his hands on a klingon knife, "We have all trained in hand to hand in engine rooms, science labs, and other sensitive areas.. We have stun buttons, knives," Pike continues on for two minutes.. "And if we fail.. Blow the area.."
"Will," Admiral Uhura sighs.. "Lets speak just the two of us.. Captain Ringo.. Captain rCalhoun have plans drawn up for.."
Two beeps come from uhura's end as the female chief nods to the Captain..
"You two have already drawn up plans.." Admiral Uhura seemed quiet for a second, "Captain Calhoun?"
"Minor Adjustments that do not matter.. Me and Captain ringo will cover the Challenger and the Titan.. My only request is.. Colonel Pike.."
"Captain Calhoun," colonel Pike seemed happy..
"I need any man you can spare.. I agree with captain Ringo's assesment.. I need you to loan me MACO's.. A squad if you can scrape me one together.. " Calhoun seemed to turn sound wise, "To only supplement my ships security personnel.. "
"I will insist on reviewing .." Geordi paused, "Send me the training program you iimplemented.."
The others get off the horn..
"Colonel Pike," captain Ringo takes out a device.. "A moment to speak in private.."
Ringo holds up a hand to chief and shakes his head no..
Colonel Pike and Captain ringo walk over to a private area of the room.. A shield shimmers between them as Captain ringo turns on the device..
After a single comment, colonel Pike breaks a table with his armored fist..
The barron's guard and the Barron all get surprised movements..
"Barron," the chief steps forward.. "The colonel only gets mad about very few things.. Apparently .."
Colonel Pike throws the broken table into the shield..
The scared Advisor whispers, "Barron.. "
"Colonel Pike is like you in that effect.. It is ok chief.. Louie has the same attitutude.. " The Barron watches as Pike puts his finger in the Captain's face, "Yeap.. Peas in a pod.." The Chief has confused look on her face, "Louie.."
"Colonel Pike just got told.." Louie looks at Pike, "He just got told how many of his men will not be coming home.. The Prediction algorythm.."
Inside the Shield, Pike picks up another table and throws it, "You are F#$%ing S#$%tin me captain.. A F#$%ing time loop.. You.. No.. their is no D@#$ way in hell sir.. I.."
"You are going to lose thirteen MACO's if I am right," Captain Ringo looked down.. "Very drunk off enhanced scotch from HIS father's hidden caches.. Thriteen... And I think this is the time period.. I.. I take full responsibility for the casualties.. "
"Captain," Colonel Pike was pissed.. Taking a moment, "thank you sir for violating the rules for me and my men.. I.."
"He called me Captain Ringo.." ringo put his hand on the colonel's shoulder, "Our hands are not tied.. Just.."
Ringo turned off the device the shield de-shimmered..
Colonel Pike thought for a second.. Tapping the armors badge, "Oh Crewmman daniels.."
A tired man speaks, "Col.. colonel Pike.. Crewman Daniels here.."
"Suit the F#$% up.." Colonel Pike walked out of the lounge, "You are going to get your MACO quals in.."
"Sir.. It .. I am not trained in.."
Pike Laughs evilly, "It is a mere safe protection detail Crewman.. Nothing is going to happen.."
"Sir.."
"I just got a feeling.. You are going to be my lucky charm," Colonel Pike stops cold.. "Chief.. Crewman daniels passed Lt Usar's training packet right.."
Chief swallowed hard, "Colonel.. He has no.. Aye Colonel.."
"Briefing room NOW Daniels," colonel Pike walked out coldly cutting the communication.. "F#$% YOU CAPTAIN!"
