A big fire will behave like a blacksmiths forge, it sucks in air causing everything to be force feed oxygen making it burn hotter.
In WW2 many city's were bombed and what is called "fire storms " started causing temperatures to rise way beyond normal melting thing that would not normally melt in a fire.
Its strange but does happen in nature.
