Every time I try I just get a "null" message.
I am far from being the posting wizard, never made it past the freak level.
I first upload the image(s) to https://imgur.com/upload
Then "Copy image link" and paste in the post with the img tags like so:

FYI - you can also do the same to change your avatar.
