Stumbled across this from 2017 which I wouldn't have given it much thought...till post 2020.
In July 2017, the U.S. Air Force issued a procurement order for samples of RNA and synovial fluid (which fills joint cavities), indicating that the samples need to have been collected in Russia. Perfectly normal Dual-use Gain-of-Function research, don't worry about it.
