There is a ton of BS flying around on YT and the rest right now. Hard to pick out the valuable information but it's always been like that I guess.
For my vote, I do not see him going anywhere soon. Unless of course if he pisses off the wealthy people in Russia. That always tends to diminish ones chances any time, any place in history. He will piss them off if they start losing too much wealth and power. That is the intent of sanctions IMHO. The everyday Russian has no yacht to lose. If they live in a shack in the hinterlands today, they will still live in that shack tomorrow. Those types of people never play into the powerful's calculus anyway.
Piss off the Russian mafia? Or the oligarchs? That could change the dynamics and I'm sure it's in play via the western machinations.
PITA POV: I will stray here a bit but I do not see it going horrible for Russia. Sure, everyone at the Kremlin would have liked to seen it over in a day. The pesky Ukrainians with all their millions of dollars of donated weaponry had something else to say about it. Their PR is better than the Georgians too. But Ukraine is a big place. The Russian military has a far different doctrine than the US military. If they meet a threshold of resistance someplace, they back off, surround it, and then grind it down. There will be no Thunder Run into Baghdad. The message has been sent to the west and so far it seems it was received loud and clear.
