Finally reached that age...

When I was about 55, I had to have some x-rays, and the doctor told me I had the skeleton of a 60 year old. I told him that if he could locate that 60 year old, I'd gladly give it back 'cause it wasn't working all that well for me.

I am at the age that I make sound effects just getting out of bed in the morning. When I try to simply rise to a standing position from a sitting position, my left hip joint frequently tries to pin me to the floor like a professional wrestler. I used to be able to do a hunter's squat for hours on end - now, if I can get down into one, I can do it for days on end, mostly because I can't get back up from it.

In regards to the "old Dick" comments, my Dear Old Dad once told me that what he used to be able to do all night long now took him all night long to do, which I reckon is as good an excuse for retirement as any, on account of being retired gives one more time...

It's The Age of Never - i.e. "these hills never used to be this tall or this step". "My arms never used to be this short when reading a newspaper".

Yeah, getting old can be a bitch, but it sure beats the alternative!

I absolutely agree. 

It's funny how you don't realize how much your have aged until you are around a bunch of people your age. I remember a few years ago I went to a Kiss concert . My first concert was to see them when I was 13 years old in 1977. I kept looking around thing, man, there are alot of old people here. Then , I went to the bathroom and looked in the mirror. It wasn't that 13 year old looking at me any more, it was an old man.
