Sounds legit.
There are some things you can never, ever really be prepared for. My age and state of health, combined with what's coming, is one of those things. I don't worry so much for myself, since I am well aware that I will live until I die, but I worry for Grace - there is just no way to "stock up" on the medicine she needs, and wilderness living - REAL wilderness living, without a house and the convenience it provides - is not something she can withstand for long.
Arms I've got. Not enough ammo (is there really such a thing as "enough ammo"?), food and first aid supplies I've got, and know how to replace. Breath I don't quite have enough of for heavy work.
So the decision for us just comes down to holding off the rampaging hordes just long enough for other, younger and more able, folks to get prepared and situated.
I only hope there are enough of them who even want to.

Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.
Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’
