I think he might have,,, maybe in front of his Mosque.
What could people be thinking when they voted for this person?
Is London filled with California Liberal Progressive Socialist and New York Elite Type of People?
Sadiq Khan is a Sunni Muslim.
He tweeted some time last year that terrorism is part-and-parcel of living in a big city
and it's been added to his narrative that 'we should just get used to it'
I can only find this article that headlines it.
'....Khan was elected Mayor of London in the May 2016 mayoral election, succeeding
Conservative Party Mayor Boris Johnson. He immediately resigned as MP for Tooting.
His election as Mayor of London made him the city's first ethnic minority mayor, and the
first Muslim to become mayor of a major Western capital.
Khan held the largest personal mandate of any politician in the history of the United Kingdom,
and the third largest personal mandate in Europe.
As mayor he introduced reforms to limit charges on London's public transport, backed airport
expansion, and focused on uniting the city's varied communities.
He was a vocal supporter of the unsuccessful Britain Stronger in Europe campaign to retain
UK membership of the European Union...'

The answer to your last question is Yes. The country outside of London does not enjoy the
social and financial benefits the capital does. The house prices are far above anywhere else in
ratio and salaries (especially Journalists!) reflect this.
Edit:
'...In November 2015, Sadiq Khan made a promise to freeze all London's Tube, train
and bus fares for four years if elected Mayor.
He said this would cost £450m over four years, but Transport for London said the real
cost would be £1.9 billion, saying that Khan had not considered "increasing ridership
over the Business Plan (passenger numbers are rising by 5 per cent every year) and
there will be new fares revenue from Crossrail when it opens in 2018/19"...'
SOURCE:
That's good for London travellers and here's the evidence:
'The Mayor Sadiq Khan has frozen fares in London.
The following are frozen until 2020:
All fares on buses and trams
All single pay as you go fares and paper single tickets on Tube and DLR services
All Santander Cycles hire and access charges
All fares on Emirates Air Line
Certain fares are also frozen until 2020 on:
London Overground and TfL Rail
River Bus
Travelcard prices and daily and weekly caps are set with the train operating companies
and not solely by the Mayor.'

Santander is a Spanish Banking company -as is Emirates Air Line, which is a high tram
transport sponsored by Emirates, owned by the government of Dubai's Investment
Corporation of Dubai.
For the Air line contract, there was this:
'...The scheme was also criticised because the original contract forbade the use of funds
from Israel, which the UAE does not recognise diplomatically.
It imposed restrictions on "(i) any Competitor; or (ii) any person who is a national of, or who
is registered, incorporated, established or whose principal place of business is in a country
with which the United Arab Emirates does not at the date of this Contract or at any relevant
point during the Term maintain diplomatic relations."
The contract also forbade the mayor or Transport for London from criticising the United Arab
Emirates royal families, the UAE government, or the contract.
The clause regarding Israel was later removed...'

My question is, how can a Mayor demand private companies to lose money?
Quote:U.S.-Mexico border wall fight: California considers divesting from companies involved in the projectSource
SACRAMENTO — Three California Democrats have a warning for contractors who sign up for President Donald Trump’s border-wall construction project between the U.S. and Mexico: Build it, and we will divest from your company.
In the latest act of resistance against the Trump administration, the state lawmakers have introduced a bill that would force the state to drop its pension investments in any companies involved in the project.
“This is a wall of shame and we don’t want any part of it,” Assemblyman Phil Ting, D-San Francisco, said in a statement. “Immigrant stories are the history of America and this is a nightmare.”
