Wait, we are supposed to NOT break these????

I thought it was a "collect them all" scenario, boy did I misjudge that....and I almost had the whole set.

No human is a saint.

From my experience, the ones who pretend to be saints, are more distant to actually being saints, than the ones who are honest, outright admit that they are not saints, and do not pretend to be saints. You are great!

Many years ago, when I was still in university, I had a friend I loved like a sister. Her husband and family fully adopted me into their family. Which is always a special gift to the university student away from home.

One night, I awakened from my sleep in a state of panic. It was 2am. I had to talk to my friend. It was insane to call her that hour of the morning, but I had to talk to her. Her husband answered the phone and he was very annoyed that I was calling, but he wasn't nasty about it. He put the phone down and I waited for my friend to come to the phone, after a few minutes the phone clicked off.

I thought at first that her husband just hung up on me, but my panic was over. He called me back about three hours later. He sounded really confused. He asked me why did I call at 2 am. I explained that I woke up in a panic and just felt I "had" to talk to her. He started crying. He told me that when he tried to wake her up, he couldn't wake her. He hung up and called the paramedics. They could not get her to respond at the hospital and she died. It turned out she had an anaphylactic response to a new medication she had started taking.

I did not know that my friend was dying. I will never know why I was awakened. I did know, I "knew", that I had to reach out to her, and I had no way of knowing why.

I could give you many more examples of this kind of knowing that has just come upon me at times in the past. This kind of knowing is not unique to me. In fact, I am willing to bet that almost everyone of us has this kind of knowing. We have been taught to suppress it for some reason, but it seems to break though every now and then.

Massive goosebumps! I am fascinated by stories like this. Exactly the kind of stuff why i visit fringe sites.

However, i might take that bet. I do not think "almost everyone of us has this kind of knowing". Nothing like that has ever happened in my life, to me.

Edited to add: I am sorry for your loss.

Yes. Exactly like the corona mask.

Don't worry bro. The ten commandments are irrelevant. Unless you are a Christian, and need an instruction manual how to live your own life.

Bow to no one. Follow morals and ethics. Listen to the inner voice. No rules, no authority. Fuck all of that "With great freedom, comes great responsibility" bullshit. With great freedom, comes no responsibility whatsoever.

I wish i could say the same. About the murder. So you are a bad person, huh? Maybe, but you are above me. That was not a compliment, because it really does not take much, at all, to be above me.

I have not murdered anyone... yet.  Or borne false witness, but that's about it I'm ashamed to say.  Now that I'm an old man I am remorseful about all the adultery and coveting and all the rest.  I guess that's my biggest regret, the adultery.  I am so guilty of that from 30-40 years ago when I was married to my first wife.  I slept with so many women that I couldn't count them.  But I was in a hair band in the '80s and all...  basically I was a jackass.

You are older now, and you have gained wisdom and understanding.

You realize now, that the adultery you did was wrong, and you have remorse. Some people commit adultery their whole lives and do not give a damn about it. You can't be really bad, in the end.

Gotta love 80's hair and glam stuff by the way. smallgreennumberone

That is one of the places where "agency" enters the fray. There are several different sorts of homicide - the killing of one human by another human. The specific sort of homicide called "murder" is the UNJUSTIFIED killing of one human by another human. There are justified homicide, and accidental homicides along with murder.

That is why the commandment specifies that "thou shalt no do murder". There are occasions where homicide is justified. The prohibition is specifically against an unjustified killing. It takes agency to know the difference.
