Chipping Hands and Foreheads is SO 20th Century! - Ninurta - 06-01-2022 ID chips in the hand or forehead, the quintessential 1980's fear of the Slavish Followers of Revelations, is SO 20th Century! We live in a new day, a new age, and The Beast has updated his biometric ID scheme to be in line with the 21st Century, so that you don't have to get any implants at all. So, Premillenialists, was The Beast just faking you out back then so that you could buy and sell and "harm not the oil", while he was getting a whole 'nuther scheme in place? Or is it just more likely that evil people are going to find the most up to date way to be evil, regardless of the age? Bonus reel: if you run a version of Windows more recent than Windows 7, or a version of iOS, or Android, or a few others, you no longer own the computer YOU paid for - Microsoft, Apple, or Google own it. You just foot the bill for them. If you store any data in "the cloud", that is no longer YOUR data - someone else, whomever controls that cloud you use, owns it instead. In all cases, they can eliminate YOUR access to YOUR stuff at will. "You will own nothing and be happy", anyone? The cure? On PC's anyhow, Linux is the cure. While you can still install it, before Microsoft and Apple locks you out of your own hardware entirely, that is. I run a dual-boot system myself. I have both Windows 7 and Linux ("Zorin" flavor) installed on this machine, and use whichever I like that day. I chose Zorin because it has a desktop that mimics Windows 7 to a high degree, making it easier for folks already familiar with that OS. If you don't like that, however, Zorin has other desktop choices that may suit your needs better. As the gent says in this video, you must be aware of your video card. I once picked up a broken PC from some trash at the side of the road, and the MBR was fried. Windows would not install on it any more, but Linux did, and that is how I fixed it. However, it had an Nvidia graphics card, and I had to hunt down the driver for that and do some programming at the system file to make it work, so that is not for the faint-hearted. If you can get a distro matching your hardware, it makes it so much easier. Note: after Linux repaired thee MBR during installation, Windows would then install as well, on a separate partition. That's when I learned the joys of a dual-boot system. . RE: Chipping Hands and Foreheads is SO 20th Century! - Ninurta - 06-01-2022 Clarification of he Windows 11 Video. Yeah, we're old. We're fat, and bald. We're Luddites. We realize not all "progress" is GOOD progress. Sue us. We'll be dead some day, and then you can have your locked down world under control of someone else. Until then, we ARE old, and we recall what it was like being free, and actually owning what YOU paid for.. . RE: Chipping Hands and Foreheads is SO 20th Century! - ABNARTY - 06-01-2022 The pay-not-to-own thing has been coming on for a while. Think John Deere tractors. While it does provide more revenue, I would love to believe at some point consumers will have had enough. If I buy an umpteen zillion dollar tractor yet you tell me it's not really mine? I am just using it for a price? Where in the news have we heard that sentiment recently? RE: Chipping Hands and Foreheads is SO 20th Century! - EndtheMadnessNow - 06-02-2022 Subscription service based. M$FT was beta testing this zero ownership crap several years ago when the hackers got the best of them and costing M$FT big $$$ on pirated copies. Everything moving to subscription & streaming service. BTW, if you're running ANY Intel based computer the hardware backdoors have been in place since the late 90s. All OS's are completely circumvented. I know because I was one on a team that validated the backdoors. General public didn't find out until 2017. I store nothing of value in the cloud and keep very little personal info on my computers attached to the Internet. So-called chipping will be reduced to a nano pill and/or a Quantum dot tattoo. The best part is they don't have to force you to swallow the pill. It will be in your (GMO) food which also includes mRNA vaccines. Billions being dumped into R&D for a nano networks inside the body. No joke. RE: Chipping Hands and Foreheads is SO 20th Century! - Ninurta - 06-02-2022 (06-01-2022, 11:54 PM)ABNARTY Wrote: The pay-not-to-own thing has been coming on for a while. Yeah, when John Deere started that foolishness, their use dropped precipitously around here. You see a lot more Kubotas these days. These hill folk here come in large part from Scottish stock, and they want to have something to show for their cash outlays besides a hole in the air where a tractor should be sitting. Now unless you have an old copy of Adobe software, you can't get it unless you "cloud compute" and use their software on their computers for a hefty monthly fee. same for a lot of Microsoft software nowadays. Sorry, but if I'm gonna pay for a software package, I'm gonna have more to show for it than all my crap on someone else's computer, so I just don't use any of those cloud computing "solutions". What I create remains in my control. I send it out into the wild, but the originals are MINE, on MY equipment, and always will be. There are no percentages in giving someone else full control of YOUR stuff. My Windows 7 keeps nagging me every so often that an "update is available". Now I know Win7 is well past it's end of life, and they are not doing any upkeep or updates on it any more. It might just be wanting to update the Windows Defender virus definitions or something, but I recall the Windows 10 rollout where they snuck in a nag program that kept trying to convince you to "upgrade" (really a downgrade) to Windows 10, and if you didn't cave in a certain length of time, the bastards just went ahead and downgraded you to Win10 through that nag program in the middle of the night when you weren't looking. Hell with that! That's why I keep "auto update" turned off on all my computers. Funny thing, you can't turn the "auto update" off in Windows 10... . Yeah, Microsoft has had a wet dream of "Windows as a service" so that even your OS is stored in and run from their "cloud". since at least the rollout of Windows 10. since I keep most of my computers air-gapped from the internet, "Windows as a service" on "the cloud" would do me exactly zero good. same for their dumbassed requirement to have a Microsoft account to log in to YOUR OWN computer. Who needs that noise? So I will not go past Windows 7 in the Windows line, and eventually will fully transition to Linux. at least with Linux it's yours, and you can poke around in the source code looking for holes. I store NOTHING in the cloud, whether of value or not, beyond e-mails. I used to store stuff in encrypted containers there (768 bit key cascaded through 3 different encryption algorithms), but the upload/download was such a pain in the ass to work it locally that it wasn't worth the effort. Especially when I can just store them locally and work them on air-gapped computers and avoid the internet transmission entirely. The only way I would put anything in the cloud now was if I needed to provide access to a report to someone else, somewhere else. Even then, it would be encrypted as above, and the container would only be large enough to contain the report. that way, if that cloud were in any way compromised, all they would get from my account would be gibberish and gobbledeygook. Then I could pass the passphrase to the other party through alternate channels, so that it and the container file were never in the same place at the same time. . Funny thing, you can't turn the "auto update" off in Windows 10... i use to have problems with 10 updating and screwing up my computer all the time. last time it was so bad that it crashed and no recovery program could repair it. i bought this one from a i guy i know who repairs them, he told me to disable, Back Ground Transfer Service, Update Orchestrator Service, and Windows Update in services. but first turn off update in settings, update and security. been almost 7 months now and i have yet to see a windows update when i boot up.if it's updating it's not telling me it is. i say this cause sometimes when i look at services i see one there that i don't remember, they usually have a set of numbers behind them. i've got it set up now almost exactly like i had 7, using classic shell, translucent b and don't even have to sign in when it boots, when it;s sleepin, and i hit the mouse i have to click the sign in button and it comes right up no password or pin. here's my desk top now, i even got me a little alien head for a start button RE: Chipping Hands and Foreheads is SO 20th Century! - Ninurta - 06-04-2022 attention Canadians: The "Mark of the Beast" that the Christians warned you about is coming for you. it's not in a chip form like they thought it would be, it's in the form of a "Digital ID" based in biometrics. That makes it far more insidious, harder to circumvent, and impossible to remove in comparison with a mere chip under the skin. An ID you will need to open bank accounts, purchase medicines from the pharmacy, interact with your government, and a great many other things. In short, a "mark" you will need to have in order to buy, or sell, or exist within society. Don't say you weren't warned, even if the warners were pointing in the wrong direction. Attention everyone else: You're next. .
