A Metaphysical Healing Technique. - NobodySpecial268 - 03-21-2022
As a new arival here, I thought I would share something useful along the lines of a metaphysical healing technique. It is something that has arisen out of working esotericly with troubled children intensively over the last six months, and many years in preparation. I hope it will help some readers here.
The technique is deceptively simple, and requires no expert esoteric knowledge or abilities. All one really needs is empathy and a certain memory . . .
Have you ever held a baby in your arms?
Have you watched a baby fall sleep in your arms?
Do you remember what that experience felt like?
Do you remember the wonder?
If you can remember what that experience felt like, that memory can be used to help heal troubled children, and adults too for that mater.
The technique is based on a simple observation: Happiness does not manefest within misery. Therefore; remove the misery and happines will begin to manefest.
Watch the human child and one will notice that happiness is the natural state of the human being. Children are naturally happy to be alive. When misery settles in, depression results, along with the behaviours and problems that follow with depression. No one wants to see a miserable child.
The basic technique is not difficult to learn, and many people can do this naturally.
Most people have held a small child, a son, a daughter, a niece or nephew. Family are easiest to begin with because we have a natural empathy and a sense of connection.
Remember what it felt like to have a small child fall asleep in your arms? To watch them sleep? There is a certain wonder of the new life and realisation of how utterly dependant the child is upon the adult for everything. This is what one wants to recall.
So let's say our small child has grown, perhaps nearing the teenage years. The child becomes reclusive and quiet for whatever reason. It is plain to see the child is miserable.
Perhaps we cannot interviene directly as in the case of family difficulties. Especially if the child is not ours.
Sit quietly and remember the memory of holding the child. Day-dreaming as the prefered state of mind is my best suggestion here, it is what I do. I just get lost in the daydream for a time, and forget about my conscious surroundings.
With that memory in mind, think of the child as it is now.
What happens is we take the child into our heart and envelope it in protective feelings.
In practice what will happen is the accumulated misery will begin to fall away from the child's subconscious. This is because we are washing away the accumulations of misery with strong feelings of love and protectiveness within a closed space. There are also ways of working very deeply with the natural processes of the body.
Just practice that and one will learn to do it with ease. My suggestion is to do this a few times a day and for short times until one can do it without concentrating.
Watch the behaviour of the child for subtle change over the next few days. What you are looking for is a smile where there was none before. For the light in the eyes to return and brighten. Perhaps the child will seek one out for attention. Subtle changes.
That is the basic technique.
What you are not doing is visualising, nor afirming, nor calling on higher powers for assistance or to do the healing. This is important; you are doing everything yourself with your own normal waking consciousness.
The very simple principal is this; happiness is the natural state of the human being, and happiness cannot manefest within misery. Remove the misery and happiness will be the result. This is so in the child.
There are more principals involved, though those principals are not neccessary to be known for success. The simple instruction above can effect a change.
However, as adults we like the explanations and the reasoning of how things work.
When the technique is achieved and definate change can be seen in the waking child, the return of the smile for instance and a general happier outlook, something more can happen while we hold the daydream of the child in our arms.
The child in our arms may change. I have watched one who is a young teen in life grow younger. When this happens one can see the troubles and pains of the past. With intuition and thoughtfullness these sources of misery can be addressed, one is being shown.
This brings us to the question; How can this be; that the daydream child in our arms can grow younger?
The answer to this question is this; What are we holding in our arms?
The answer here is; we are holding the target child's subconscious self.
So let's define exactly what I am referring to when I use the term "subconscious".
Subconscious: That which is below the conscious awake self. The subconscious, the body's conceiled consciousness of our organs and systems, the memories. One may include the dreaming self.
So let's create a custom definition of mind. Mind, for our purpose here, will include both our conscious awake self and our subconscious self plus our memories, and nothing more. In practice one finds that the individual human is also an individual mind.
In practice, one will find that it is easier to heal the sleeping child than it is to heal the awake child in this manner.
So, the question arises at this point; How does this fella know all this?
The answer here is I took on a patient who may be labled, in this day and age, early onset schizophrenia. What was learned in there paved the way with understanding for the technique described here.
The distant healing can be done in this way, and the herbs can be used as well.
Tis an odd thing, to notice another daydream child watching as you work. Like most children who see something wonderful happening for other children, they will want healing too.
Then you realise, the child watching from behind you is yourself.
I will leave this here for now, and let folks ask questions, and practice for themselves. Healing the traumas, emotions and mind is a very deep subject. I am happy to take time so others can learn to do this for their loved ones, and maybe even for themselves. There is a great deal more that I can say on this healing, the mind and being human. All people have to do is simply ask . . .

That is a lot to think about. I appreciate you putting it out there.
The idea of happiness being the default status of people resonates with me.
Holding sleeping children or sleeping puppies or sleeping kittens is a powerful event. I never knew why. It reaches so deep it's amazing.

I learned a very similar technique many years ago, but in the method I learned the child I was healing was myself. I was reminded when you wrote of your own inner child peeking from behind you. It does actually work, especially when dealing with the trauma from an abusive childhood.
Thank you for making this thread! Sometimes the years are unkind to our memory and all it takes is a little nudge to bring almost forgotten knowledge back from the dusty corners of our minds!
Have a great week!

You got it ABNARTY: ". . . happiness being the default status of people . . . ".
Once one understands the concept, we can begin to heal people who are important to us. We can understand that misery is foriegn to the human. Like accumulated grime, we can clean it away.
The same can be said of "good and evil" by the way . . .
Aye, and puppies and kittens too : )

The "inner child" has always been elusive for me, perhaps like most children it can be shy. My own educated guess is when one does healing and removes the misery from others, someone notices and comes out of the shadows so as not to be left out. Perhaps trust is a factor too.
It was an odd thing for me to see him as a being separate to me, yet it also makes it far easier to sit him on my knee and to see what troubles him.
Aye the traumas run deep and beyond the reach of western psychology. We need alternative means to heal those.
And you're welcome GeauxHomeLittleD, and thanks

When I learned the technique from nobodyspecial268 a while back, I started applying it to my kids. I noticed a simultaneous brightening in both our temperaments. The kids mostly. One of my kids used to get into a lot of fights. Overtime, that trend decreased. I was so happy.
One day while daydreaming about holding my kids I realized that there's a little girl inside that needs to be held too.
I'm not sure how that has worked out. It gives me an electrifying and dangerous sensation. It's not as peaceful as holding my kids. But maybe over time?
Did you experience discomfort while holding your inner child?
Glad to read your assertion that "it really works".

I wouldn't say "discomfort" but it was very strange at first. In the method I was taught I visualized myself in the place where the abuse began- walking through the neighborhood on a beautiful sunny day, feeling the warm sun and breeze, hearing the sounds and experiencing the smells on my walk there. As I approached the driveway I saw my child self playing alone in the yard and gingerly approached her, first smiling, then talking, then playing and climbing trees together and then went from there- not an instantaneous embrace right off the bat but a gaining of trust and showing that an adult could be kind without wanting anything but to spend time enjoying getting to know her before holding her and giving her true, no strings attached love.
It didn't all get better overnight, it took several times and going much deeper later: entering the house, witnessing the fear and later the abuse and aftermath. You have to understand that it took place for many years and I repeated the method with my child self at every age and in every place it occurred But with each time I felt better and better until I reached the point where I could openly talk about any part of it with only a little feeling of sadness for the child whose childhood was for a big part lost and finally found peace.

A very interesting post I can add personal experience to.
Some years ago I had a girlfriend who was prone to migraine and headaches. I was watching TV while she hided in the bedroom, blinds closed and in agony from the migraine. I knew to leave her alone but I went to her for asking if I can do something for her. She said just stay and so I sat by the bed. After a while, I asked her if I should send her some love. This was the first time I brought "sending love" up with physical contact, as I felt up her temperature on the forehead. While doing that she said like "yes please" and so for the first time ever, I started to meditate and send love with my hand on her forehead.
I meditated and concentrated on the boundary between my hand and her head, just observing the feeling there, while I breathed up my chi (if this reads strange, look into QuiGong). And then I can not explain it, I just slowly concentrate on directing it into my hand, feeling out what is there, behind my hand. And often with migraine, I discovered afterwards, it would feel very chaotic. Like a whirlwind of a loose ball of cotton wool. Reads crazy I know but I can not explain it better. So sometimes I would send chi and sometimes not. But chi isn't love, love is in the act of willingness to spend time and energy to try ease the suffering of someone else in this case.
Often she would get better, not instantly and not always, but in a way it became apparent it was helping her. Sometimes I had the headache afterwards, what led me to be careful. Psychosomatic or indeed helping healing something different? I have no answer and do not believe others can not do this too. It's worth a try at least the next time a loved one suffers. It can not hurt, right?
But I know and heard about Reiki before, it has a bitter aftertaste for me though. Most I met practicing it just LOVE to manipulate others, taking the position of someone in the know and getting people to trust and submit. I am sure there are these good Reiki practitioners out there but it's the same like card laying for me. Often these are just people like me that are intuitively very fine adjusted with the addition of getting a kick out of being knowledgeable or mysterious in the eyes of others. I once had someone like that analyze me unasked and everyone around was upset because it was like the complete difference. But that person observed me doing something she determined for something different and that made me loose all respect for people that lay cards. But I drift off! I myself have faith and believe in such things, but often the so called medium is the fake thing / reason for it not to work.

Here that is called desensitizing therapy, it has a more fancy way to word it out that escapes me currently. Lot's of salt loss afterwards every time though. Can relate to you a lot and I am happy to read you got good results out of it too. What helped me most was to learn and understand that while this shaped/changed me, it is over and I can now build upon it. Still knowing my past but like you wrote, just a little feeling of sadness that is manageable and not overwhelming. After I learned this, I also stopped talking weird # in my sleep.
It gave me so much more life quality but it was hell at the time where the desensitizing happened. And like you wrote at one point I went back to that situation not as an observer that can not do anything but as someone adult with a plan and courage, approaching my inner self and reaching out.

In reading what you did to help her, I immediately thought that it sounded like Reiki. I got attuned for 1st level several years ago. I don't do it much & I don't really feel anything when I do it like some others do. The people I have done it on all say that it helped them a lot and that they can really feel something happening. One friend told me that when I was working on her that she saw colors that she had never seen in real life. I thought that was so cool. I notice that when I do it on animals, they really notice it and respond. I remember thinking after my attunement that it didn't even seem necessary. I think, like you said, that if you have faith and believe it then it will work. I'm sorry you met manipulative practitioners though - not cool. I only know of a handful of people that do it but they are close to me and are only interested in helping/healing.

All people have to do is simply ask . . .
My opinion is that everyone can do this and it does not take talent but empathy and compassion for it to have effect. Interesting that you brought up animals. I had a dog once, she long left us for a restart but I can still remember the ritual we had. Every day for more than 15 years I touched forehead with her as I put attention on her before I went to sleep. She was a bit weird in the sense that she was Malinois and they often don't like being cuddled and need their space if it get's too much. This forehead touching, I would close my eyes and just think positive / love. Maybe that was similar to your experience about animals?
About Reiki, I do believe there are good ones out there and it might be a local cluster thing / hype that led to my impression. Maybe you can answer a question I once asked and instead of getting an answer, I got in an argument after daring to ask and got told I am just too weak and stubborn for it to work. I feel like I can ask you that without this repeating so here it comes:
What is it about the distance of the hand? I watched Reiki being practitioned and it's just weird and makes zero sense to my waiving the hands around 1 foot over the body. I was told this is where the fields are, but after further enquiry the above happened. Because I said that when I do "my thing", I can clearly pick up something on skin level even without touching but never like 1 foot above. Yeah so I was explained because of my heretic mindset I do not receive this gift and therefore I can only do it on skin level. You should have heard the tone and seen the facial expression of that person, degrading and high nosed. I immediately got the impression of rotten things, I think it was the dark blue color of his voice coupled with the look that made me realize the hidden aggression because I dared to friendly ask a question and try apply his own logic. And I understand others do not understand the sense of like spending time in the birthday suit in forest for certain rituals either but wont make comments on how they are just too "unpure" or whatever to understand and say things in an oracle way like "You would not ask this if you understood". Well no kidding? Really? :D
My opinion is we all can do it and need to find ways that work best for us. Some like me focus more on nature, it's energies and the power of intention, others do Reiki, someone else likes to use Tibetian resonant bowls to creaty frequencies and it's that what works for them. So many possibilities, I think in the end it's important:
awareness, attention, intention, love

'day TDDA. I'm glad you found a way to help, my ex-ish wife gets the migrains and I have the silent ones. A few teaspoons of honey is what I use these days.
The hand technique. I use the 'eye in the palm of the hand' to treat others. The 'eyes' use the body's natural processes and inherant knowledge. It is disparaged these days. From observation, the knowledge is discouraged so other systems can take it's place.
My mom did the three(?) Reiki levels back in the 1980s. For the benefit of her cats from memory. Though she did try the distant work on me occassionally. While I politely declined offers, there were times I would notice, and an antipathy towards other people using distant work stays with me to this day. Now that I think back, perhaps the antipathy would block due to declining. Knowing mom, there may have been a "I know better" ulterior motive behind it, perhaps unconscious.
I'm aware of the QuiGong to a degree, so I can follow the talk of the work with chi.

Thank you for the explanation, I now have a term I can look for and read about further. :)
Your antipathy towards people that practice distant work, or what I call "sending positive energy" is very understandable to me. In a way on the same level as some Tarot laying person having the audacity to interfere in a way like it does. That's why I will always ask and wait for permission if I want to send positive energy to someone. Even sending positive energy I deem a violation if it is unasked. It interferes with them and they don't know it, IMHO that's abuse. It is a bit different for your situation though.
<< Knowing mom, there may have been a "I know better" ulterior motive behind it, perhaps unconscious.>>
Yes, I am guilty of such things too towards my daughter. Because I love her and only want her best. It is necessary now, that I am like that, because she is young and unexperienced but at one point I am going to have to dial it down, so she can grow herself and even question myself. I will be super proud the first time she challenges me argumentatively and can explain her opinion. Then I know I did it right. Seems like your mom did it right, too :)
As a mother it's sometimes hard to accept a differing opinion "because we know better" and "It's for your greater good". We just want to protect but that can be counter productive often. Sometimes the best we want isn't the same best as the other would describe.
RE: A Metaphysical Healing Technique. - NobodySpecial268 - 03-23-2022
Aye, the ethics is difficult thing to learn.
Thinking about it now, my antipathy probably had a lot to do with developing the healing technique outlined in the opening post.
By using our own memory of protectiveness and thinking of the target just as they are now, it is as basic as I could come up with. Feeling alone in this world really takes a toll on people, we can be in a crowd and still be all alone. So if a kid is feeling isolated for whatever reason, feeling a close relative's protectiveness breaks the isolation because they feel someone with them at a deep level.
So maybe it is not the "power of love", but rather the target realising they are not alone in this world that turns kids (and grown up kids) around from dispair.
When we know that misery is accumulatory and akin to grime, we don't actually need to touch the target at all. There is an anaolgy I use to explain. It was with one of Janny's children: I am just a cleaner who cleaned up her room around her.
Even if I work on the dreamer/subconscious level of the target, it is as an NPC (Non-Player Character - video gamer term). Most kids understand that a NPC is something that does not do anything unless approached and interacted with. Sometimes the NPC will heal the player, sometimes it is a treasure chest, or something similar. It does require a LOT of patience, and they may never even notice, or just plain ignore me.
There was one young lady who, when she finally noticed me as useful, tied me to a lamp post and left me there in her subconscious/dreamworld. So she knew where to find me is my guess.
The other point about the technique is it is non-denominal. There is no connection to any group, religion, nor philosophy. Just the physical body's own abilities and internal knowledge. So perhaps it is true to say; non-spiritual healing.
RE: A Metaphysical Healing Technique. - NobodySpecial268 - 03-26-2022
So, let's recap the basic healing technique introduced in the opening post of this thread.
The basic principal is this: Watch the human child and one will notice that happiness is the natural state of the human being. Children are naturally happy to be alive. When misery settles in, depression results, along with the behaviours and problems that follow with depression. The child also becomes isolated and alone, it is the same with adults.
1. The memory of holding a small child in our arms brings to the surface of our consciousness strong feelings of love, wonder and protectiveness for the child in our arms. We can use these feelings for healing.
2. If we also think of the person we wish to heal while holding these emotions, the person becomes our patient for healing as they are in the present time..
3. This is a distant technique. We do not need to hold the patient in our arms for this to work.
4. The technique work's quite effectively when the patient is asleep, though can be done anytime.
5. The technique works better on children, than adults.
6. The technique needs to be practiced in short sessions; perhaps a maximum of a minute at a time.
7. Verification of success comes from observation, we need to see the results working in our physical world.
8. The technique treats both the child in the arms and the person holding the child.
-------------------------
Considerations on the eight points above.
Point One: The feelings of love, wonder and protectiveness provide an ideal atmosphere within which to work our healing. Ponder protectiveness for a moment. Protectiveness means we protect our patient from negative influences. So naturally this includes protection from negative influences from the healer.
Point two: Memories are obviously events of the past which we can personally relive. To bring these memories into the present time we must also think of our patient as they are in the present time.
Point three: A distant technique means we do not need physical contact for this to work. (See point seven below.)
Point four: When we are asleep our waking consciousness has shifted into our asleep consciousness. The external waking world we percieve through our senses no longer impacts the consciousness. One might say that distractions are not present during the time we are asleep, and therefore we are more receptive.
Point five: Adults have baggage. Compared to children, adults live in their worries and fears, live in their religious and philosophical frameworks, along with a whole host of other "adult" things in the pursuit of happiness and self gratification.
Whereas all the child wants to do is feel better, and does not care about the "how" and "why". Children will simply accept that they feel better and their mind turns to other things.
Adults have subconscious roadblocks; children simply accept.
Point six: It is a question of impact verses constant. Small repeated jolts are noticable, while a constant hum gets filtered out of conscious awareness. The healer will also get bored fairly quickly when trying to maintain a feeling over a long period of time. The remembered feelings will also loose effectiveness if overused. Think of it as emotional exhaustion when overused.
So my advice is to learn the technique slowly in the beginning in order to get the feeling for the process. Then shorten with practice to just a few moments of time practiced often. Do it over and over until one can do it without thinking. Short and sharp is what one wants to achieve in practice.
Point seven: We have to see results in the physical world. We have to see the change in the child with our own physical eyes. We need to know this works. So if we have a gloomy child who rarely smiles, we want to see a smile where there was no smile before. Where the light in the child's eyes has disappeared we want to see the light return. Where the child surrounds itself with gloomy colours, we want to see a few bright colours begin to appear.
If we have practiced, we can sit in a chair while the children are busy with other things; watching television or video games for instance. If we have the technique right, the child should turn around and look straight at us.
Point eight: When we surround our child with our positive feelings, they feel better. We are also feeling the same positive feelings. So of course the technique works two ways. We heal the child and we also heal ourselves in the process.
General considerations. Keep in mind that we are using our own body's resources, our own memories are the basis of the technique plus a little knowledge of what we are doing. We are not dependant upon external resources. Anyone can do this.
The technique above is a basic exercise in applied psychology based on the principal that happiness is the natural state of the human being, and that misery is an accumulation. An analogy here is the light bulb. If the light bulb is covered in accumulated dirt, the light is dimmed, and eventually disappears.
Humans are very much an emotional furnace. We can all probably remember walking through a crowd and suddenly stopping in our tracks with an odd feeling. "What was that?" we wonder. Perhaps it was simply an angry person walking by.
Our emotions as we experience them are projected outwards as is light from the light bulb in all directions. Now if we focus our emotions as we would do upon the memory of the child in our arms, something happens. We become less aware of our surroundings and more aware of our memory and what we are doing. We become inwardly focused. One may describe this as a daydream or light trance. What was broadcast in all directions becomes internalised and focused in one place. The child has a place within our hearts for a time.
In practice, and generally without consciously knowing, we eventually build a space within our hearts where we focus for short times.
Ethics: I talk mainly of children in regards to this technique. That is primarily because children are easier to heal than adults. However the child is not an adult. Where the child is a dependant and needs to be cared for and guided, the adult should be independant. This is an important ethical point.
We have a responsibility for our children until they can make descisions on their own. Once children become adults we must step back.
We are also not responsible for other people's children, and it is not our place to make judgements upon their upbringing.
I also say treat your own children first. For one, they are easier then strangers you do not know. It actually takes a lot of skill to treat a stranger in this way.
So here we have a consideration. There are three stages in life. Being the child, having children of our own, and becoming grandparents. It is generally when we become the grandparents that we have the time to spend to dote on our grandchildren. We are there when our grandchildren are born and watch them grow up.
When we become grandparents is the perfect time to help our grand children with this healing. If we can keep the child from falling into dispair and misery, we are helping them to become well adjusted adults.
The multi-generational family home has almost disappeared in the occident (west). To keep in touch with our family in this way brings the family back together in a subtle unseen way. As grandparent healers we will need to keep in touch with our grandchildren so we will be there when they need us. Parents are often busy with earning a living and other things, they are often not there for their children. Of course when we see our family members becomming isolated, we can do something about it. In the modern western world where people become isolated, misery is not far behind.
By extension, we can help our grandchildren's friends when they are miserable. If a few people worked together the healing of a residential street or small town is theoretically possible.
When we work in this way all we are doing is clearing away the accumulated misery and not changing the person. When the troubled child is held in the arms of an adult, we can see them relax and sleep better. That is healing. It works on adults too.
Oh, and if anyone is wondering if this technique can be misused. Well "yes" one could substitute negative memories for positive ones and project those. The remembered and therefore experienced negative state will destroy the projector rather quickly.
On the other hand, people can live and thrive in a state of happiness quite happily for quite a long time.
--------------------------
I'll put together a new post for the folks who can do the basic exercise and see the results.
There are wonders that can be achieved when one explores further what the human body natively knows.

Is it possible that the positive impact of of this healing technique can be retroactive concerning memories? As in, is it possible that past memories between the holder and the holdee change in quality?
For example, after about a month of holding, past memories are rosey, while 2 months ago remembering the past was not rosey, even though its the same past being remembered. Does holding kids impact memory content quality?
2nd question:
I recently started holding my stepmother too.
It was a big decision, as it's time consuming and requires commitment to hold anyone.
I can feel the soot of misery on her. Like slabs of cement. Heartbreaking.
I understand why adults are not favorite patients.
Does holding someone like that have any impact on the other 3 kids being held?
Thank you :)

Well, if you are remembering through a fog of misery, it follows that if the misery clears, then the memory will be brighter . . .
Quote:Does holding someone like that have any impact on the other 3 kids being held?
Well, if you have three kids, and two have improved, then there is probably no reason to keep treating those two. The logic is you are cleaning them up. You bath a kid, and then forget about it until they get dirty again. No point in cleaning a clean kid.
My suggestion is not to take on too much. Work on solving one at a time. The kid who isn't responding you'll have try and work out the reason. Something physical to solve? Something deeper?
If a kid is not responding when treated in a group, try 'one on one' is my suggestion. If it is a young kid, the misery may from a feeling of not being special or getting lost in a crowd. If that is the case then it logically follows the group treatment will not work. One can be within a crowd and still be all alone . . .
RE: A Metaphysical Healing Technique. - NobodySpecial268 - 05-14-2022
If one has become used to evoking from within the memory of holding the child, one finds one creates a space within. A closed space within the heart that can be thought of as a healing space.
In practice I find that one can hold any person really. Someone close is best I think to begin with. I use a photograph for strangers I wish to treat. I will gaze at the photo often untill a feeling arises within me, usually there is a story and background that comes with the photo. These are usually children. Perhaps my own bias, yet I find children easiest to work with because they simply accept. Adults have baggage, you have been warned.
When one does this often to a group of children, that is when our own inner child becomes interested in what we are doing for others just like them.
For myself I can't say much upon the subject of healing our own inner child, I know when I am being watched and who is watching. I guess it takes time for our own subconscious to trust the outer person. So there is a whole world of healing here for people to explore and break new ground in healing.
I mentioned before that what we are doing works best when the target is sleeping. That is because the target's dream-self is whom we are treating. They will notice us.
Now the dream-self may as well be called the dreamer. Why not? That is what they are. I will stay away from the well worn words that are often used. Like adults, words can have baggage. So to use terms such as "astral" or "aetheric" may give the wrong impression. What we are dealing with in the dreamer is the person's entire subconscious.
So let's define what I mean by "subconscious". I use the term to include the dreaming consciousness and the physical body's consciousness of the organ and systems - the whole body. We can include the aetheric body, the warmth body and the astral for that matter if one wants to.
I also want of avoid only thinking in terms of the 'chakra'. The reason is as human beings we can percieve with the whole body as if it were an eye, and perception is not just a third eye. The heart is an organ of perception whose language is feelings for example.
So my suggestion now is to practice the holding of the child, but only for a little while at a time. What one is aiming for is to be able to turn the technique off and on like we do a smile. It is the feeling that counts and not thinking and visualisation.
