Having an easy day - GeauxHomeLittleD - 03-01-2022 Howdy Rogues! Just kind of checking in. Haven't been around much lately. Started a diet and exercise regime and it makes me grumpy-ish so I've just been peeking in. Decided to take an easy day today due to wearing the wrong shoes yesterday and having a sore leg. I decided I wanted to lose some weight and get in better shape so started a diet and daily walking and stretching habit, then the next day Kdog decided to quit smoking. So far I've lost 12 pounds and Kdog is down to just one or two cigarettes a day. Believe it or not neither of us has tried to strangle the other to death yet... but the option is not off the table! lol! Hope everybody is doing okay and keeping stress levels as low as possible considering the state of the world right now. I'm doing my best to just focus on things I can control in my own here and now. Have a great week Rogues! RE: Having an easy day - BIAD - 03-01-2022 Well done GeauxHomeLittleD, keep it up! My right-leg has been playing up, but not due to shoes... just being lazy! In the winter months, I tend to keep close to the fire's hearth and put my feet up. That's where I think the muscle damage has happened. (I refuse to put it down to old age!) My right-leg has been playing up, but not due to shoes... just My leg (especially my knee) is jacked up so what I have to do is go do a couple of laps then come home and rest it before going back out and doing another lap. My knee was already feeling the age but then I had a bad fall at Mammoth Caves two summers ago so now it doesn't play around with alerting me to its displeasure. Hoping by next week I can do two laps, take a break and then go back out for two more. Part of it is uphill a little and part is downhill that's what is messing with my knee the most. Mine I know is mostly damage done in my younger years catching up but I am absolutely for certain that yours is not- and I'm willing to testify on your behalf! lol! That knee pain and stiffness and throbbing is treatable. Your knee and leg needs to be examine by them first and then they can prepare a VERY Potent Herbal Paste you would wear rapped to the problem area. The paste if made correctly will Look, Feel and Smell Like Dinosaur Poop. Put it works. I just used the last of my supply form my two cracked ribs. I need to reorder the Herbs from China and India. Tell Kdog I am Proud of him. I have a tiny jar of Chinese salve here called "Wild Tiger Balm" that a Buddhist monk gave me when I was standing guard duty one day. It's a white waxy paste, smells like cinnamon (or maybe cloves?), and works miracles against joint pains. About 8 or 9 years ago, I had a bout of bursitis for around 9 months. Could not raise my arms over my head. Just when I thought it was going to be permanent, that stuff fixed it right up. It comes in a tiny six-sided jar with a gold colored cap on it, and a green label with Chinese writing on it. it's made in China, but I found a supply at a little shop about 30 miles from here, way out in the boonies, so it can be got in the US if you're lucky enough to find it. This is what it looks like: . Yes, I've heard of "Wild Tiger Balm" and it might work. I like the Dino Poop, it keeps the Jehovah Witnesses and Liberals away from my door, the beggar won't come to me and ask for my change I have in the Safeway parking lot. Then it helps. A lot. Not a bad burn, more like "Heat linament". When I was a kid on the farm, my dad used to make up a concoction out of alcohol and iodine to rub the horses legs down with. That works some against joint and muscle pains, too, and doesn't burn when you apply it, but it does stain your skin. All he did was pour a bottle of iodine into a bottle of rubbing alcohol, and done. . RE: Having an easy day - GeauxHomeLittleD - 03-23-2022 Update: Still sticking with the diet and walking. Hopped on the scale for the first time in a bit this morning and man, what a shocker! Down 18 pounds total! And other than the first few days without feeling like I'm starving- Woohoo!!! Even with the funky knee and all I'm up to 6 laps around the entire apartment complex per day, almost ready for 7 but don't want to push my old bones too quick. Been making new friends along the way, especially the furry kind so getting ALL the love! Yesterday a pitbull nearly knocked me down on some stairs giving me hugs and kisses- good thing I had a decent grip on the rail! I have an endocrinologist appointment in a few weeks. I'm pretty sure even that grumpy, vegan stick will be happy with my numbers after blood work this go around. Happy hump day everyone!
