Spooks and the Man Kicked Off Plane For Not Wearing Mask In Between Bites Of Food - 727Sky - 05-01-2021 Once upon a time long long ago I worked for a branch of NSA. Yep, you had to have the background check and top secret security clearance and learn how to talk without moving your lips !! (joke about the lips but you just might be surprised) ... I spent two years surrounded by some of the most paranoid spooks you can imagine... Paranoia seemed to be a trait greatly valued as the more paranoid the higher the individual seemed to advance above a GS 12 pay grade. I was just a pilot who went out and gathered information and turned it over to the spooks both in country and that which was transmitted back to the puzzle palace in Langley and D.C. so I was not trying to move up in the organization. The only reason I give this little bit of back ground is because of the article I came across about an individual being kicked off a commercial airliner because he did not take a bite of his food and chew after securing his mask back upon his face. It just trigger me about all the borderline sick and paranoid people I once knew who could make decisions of life and death for others while barely being able to function with out their rigid support network of institutionalized SOP (standard Operating Procedures) to refer to. I remember thinking way back when "thank god these people are not in charge of national policies other than in an advisory capacity." I Partly felt this way because they could think of stuff a normal person would never consider doing much less acting upon. One night in a secure compound ...and I do mean secure with guards, dogs on patrol inside the fence, and concertina wire on and around the fence I had finished a game of pool with a G.S. 16 and we both decided it was time to hit the head (bathroom) before out next game. Once in the bathroom and idle chatter I mentioned our security status had moved up a notch. Strickened, he looked left, right, up down and even checked under the sink before saying some of the leadership of Russia had left the Kremlin and no one knew where they were.. (come to find out many had gone to the black sea for some R&R)... This was not an act on his part but the real deal for him to open his mouth about anything about the elevated status the base was now on. I was lucky as I did my thing and the mission logs and paperwork were stowed in a satchel which I turned over to the highly secure operations building...more concertina wire armed guards and a narrow pathway where we were told to never get off the path.. All was located inside the already secure base where housing and the officers club was located. I guess I felt like venting a little bit but the crazies are running the mad house IMO. Once they get hold it is like trying to get a Tiger to let go of it's prey. RE: Spooks and the Man Kicked Off Plane For Not Wearing Mask In Between Bites Of Food - drussell41 - 05-01-2021 So they didn't give him a choice: stop eating or wear your mask between bites? I mean, it went straight to, "OMG! You're not wearing a mask! Off with your head! Er, I mean the plane." ? Not that I'm supporting what they did at all, but skipping a meal might be more important than hosing up your entire trip. You're not going to change the minds of power-happy idiots on that one flight. I absolutely would not eat a meal while wearing a mask between bites. How disgusting. And ridiculous. If that atmosphere were truly that hazardous, you shouldn't be eating at all..... something like what's mandated in labs working with biohazards. Another thought: Notice you have to wait 14 days after last vax to be considered fully vaccinated. However, it's only valid for 90 days. That means you're only considered "safe" for 76 days/year? What? So does that mean that you'd have to be vaccinated 4x/yr if you have to fly all the time? Does anyone think through the implications of their horseshit? Just wondering. You're not going to change the minds of power-happy idiots on that one flight. I only fly if absolutely necessary. I used to fly quite frequently, but with all the restraints, restrictions, and requirements, I found it more pleasant to drive. Now that my age prevents me from doing the long haul straights, I take the slower, more scenic routes, and enjoy the trip. I don't see myself getting on another plane for a very long time. You're not going to change the minds of power-happy idiots on that one flight. I can fly just about anyplace in the world for free or with a 90% discount providing there is an empty seat...usually there is a seat in first class for me and the wife so that is when I book a flight ... Besides all the BS there just isn't anyplace I want to go and certainly no place where COVID rules the minds of those in control. I guess to many years of flying to places and staying in hotels to get excited about greener pastures... I found out long ago grass is pretty much the same where ever you go. Some friends think I am crazy for not going someplace and seeing the sights but in my mind I been there, seen that, and could have bought the tee shirt. Plus for me and where I live now (last 11 years) is pretty much as good a life as it can be for me. Is it perfect, no, as the electricity has gone off 3 times in the last 4 days for a few hours. That pisses me off !! But we have had some pretty big rain showers (rainy season) with wind which gets trees tangled in the power lines. We went back to the states a couple of years ago (maybe 5) and we were going to stay for 3 months.. We stayed for 30 days and had a blast with friends and family but... I do not like feeling like I am getting ripped off at every turn. Rent a car was 3 to 4 times more expensive than I remembered.. Food that used to cost $2 then cost $5 and was only a little past half full. I am not cheap but I do not like feeling like I am being ripped off. I can only imagine what I would feel like today?? My wife is cool for if I say pack a bag she just wants to know for how long and where do I think we will end up.. ![]() RE: Spooks and the Man Kicked Off Plane For Not Wearing Mask In Between Bites Of Food - 727Sky - 05-01-2021 RE: Spooks and the Man Kicked Off Plane For Not Wearing Mask In Between Bites Of Food - NightskyeB4Dawn - 05-01-2021 I can relate. I used to be full of wanderlust, and loved to travel. So much that I took a job that kept me on the road and paid all my expenses to do so. It was fun while it lasted, but after a while the whispers from home called me back, and now, I am so content here in the backwoods that I don't even like going out to shop. Most of my family got the vaccine, but few are ready to do air flight. My niece is getting married next year and most of the family is planning to caravan to the event. My family is huge, and I know that our single family will have no impact on the air line industry, but I would not be surprised to see the cost of airfare negatively impacted, due to the decrease in the number of people that are willing to fly leisurely. Those willing to fly are going to be the ones that will likely pay more for the privilege. Yes, they're expecting you to get immunized more than once per year. But under an Article of Law Decree just published by the European Union, its proposed Digital Green Pass will have validity for just six months. Once this expires the holder would need to be re-vaccinated or have had Covid in the last six months or take a test every 48 hours in order to regain their freedoms. https://humansarefree.com/2021/05/huge-group-of-doctors-from-30-countries-there-is-no-scientific-foundation-to-the-concept-of-vaccine-passports.html RE: Spooks and the Man Kicked Off Plane For Not Wearing Mask In Between Bites Of Food - ABNARTY - 05-02-2021 I love aircraft. Always have. Love to fly. I've even been known to jump out if them when the Jumpmaster gives me the high sign. Since 9-11, commercial air travel has been death on a stick. Who wants to put up with all that nonsense? Now with the C19 and the masks? Forget it. I won't do it. Not worth it. Still love aircraft and flying but the you can keep the circus. If that airline has atmosphere so toxic on their airplanes that folks can't even go without a mask long enough to eat a meal, that airline needs to be shut down and all their airships condemned. If it's that bad, why aren't they making passengers wear hazmat suits and use oxygen tanks while thy are on those polluted machines? . RE: Spooks and the Man Kicked Off Plane For Not Wearing Mask In Between Bites Of Food - 727Sky - 05-02-2021 Depending on the make an the model of airplane once airborne the cabin air is new air every 4 to six minutes. A 737 if I remember correctly is ever 4 minutes. This is done with the air cycle machines (2 on a 2 engine jet) and the pressurization of the cabin. There are outflow valves where all the used air is vented overboard. IMO you are more likely to get a bug by touching something infected and then your mouth or eyes... You're not going to change the minds of power-happy idiots on that one flight. Yep. The truth is that is if it's so dangerous that it can maim/kill in between bites while you're chewing, it's too dangerous without a respirator. You could easily get exposed while you lift the mask to put the food in your mouth. It really is pretty black and white for me. I just never stopped being amazed about the inability to reason or the dismissal of logic (i.e., they're capable of reason, but choose not to exercise it or just go for flat-out exploitation of a situation). Fomites are real. :) Doesn't look like they're much of a threat with this disease tho. Last I read, 1 in 10K chance or something. I don't know how they came up with that. Like 1 in 10K if you touch something an infected person touched? If you touch an actual puddle of snot or spit? I didn't run it down. |
