Minneapolis Council Gets Private Security - ABNARTY - 06-27-2020

So...the same folks who voted to get rid of the cities police force now have tax payer funded private security.

"A spokesperson for the city told the outlet that the private security has cost roughly $63,000 over the past three weeks."

Supposedly these three members of the council are receiving threats. I do not condone threats as these but what happens when your ordinary Joe Schmo gets a threat against them? If I were in Vegas I would put 100% of my money on "not getting tax payer funded private security".

Not sure how much more "for thee but not for me" this gets.

Yeah, the hypocrisy and double standard are just stunning.

When Schmoe gets a threat, I say bring it and we'll let the buckshot and 5.56 sort it out lol.

The hypocrisy of these politicians, it's enough to make me want to scream.

This disgusts me.

It's what they want, however.

They want economies disrupted, distrust within the police agencies, separate rules for political leaders, and a social engineering to obey political ideologues.

RE: Minneapolis Council Gets Private Security - kdog - 06-27-2020

I wonder who is paying for that?

Sure, the people don't need protection from the police, but government croonies need armed guards.

Their hypocrisy astounds me!  smallfit

Anyone who votes to keep these people in office are idiots, or else have very low IQs.
It will be interesting to see if they get ousted next time at the voting booth.

If they get back in, we should get a list of who voted for them and go round them up and drop them off in Venezuela.
We don't need the beginning stages of Communism in this country, or people who supports that ideology.

While I agree that we don't need it here, I also recognize that that sort of thing is precisely what we condemn Stalin and his ilk for - rounding up dissidents and exiling them to the gulags - and so cannot condone the sentiment.

These private guards are mercenaries, pure and simple. I can say that because I used to do exactly that sort of work. I contracted to both private companies and governments. They are "guns for hire", which is recognized as mercenary enterprise the world 'round. The problem for me is not their mercenary status, it is that the Overlords are using public funds to pay for them while at the same time trying to deny the same protection to private citizens.

That's not gonna fly.

It may be time for me to start up a domestic mercenary company, but refuse government contracts and only promote it to the private sector. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, is it not? Government cannot legitimately bitch about what they themselves are doing. The only problem I see would be the fact that Joe and Jack down the street don't have the deep pockets governments have, and so it might not be economically feasible - and economic feasibility is, after all, what "mercenary" is all about!

I have no problem defending my own - I already have the experience for it - but just one of me defending a lot of "thems" won't work well either.

I must ponder this for a while. In the meantime, while I'm pondering, I don't advise any lawless attacks on my position. It will only end in grief for the attackers and their mothers.

Who said anything about exiling them to the gulags?  I just meant we should take them to a country that shares their ideology. Let them live out their dreams there instead of trying to force it on a country that doesn't want their "type".

We may be the country of great diversity, but there needs to be a line drawn in the sand, in my humble opinion.

So... exile them to be "among their kind" without exiling them? How would that work?

From where I stand, exiling is exiling - and Venezuela is not far removed from a gulag...

No, you can't exile them without exiling them.  Just get them out of here. I don't care what you call it.  smallnotamused

I'm such a bad, bad boy...

Can we use cattle cars to transport them at least? I think there is railway all the way to Venezuela...
