'At least five people have been injured in a shooting at a California school, and the gunman is still on

Officers have said they are dealing with an "active scene" after the suspect opened fire at Saugus High
School in Santa Clarita, Los Angeles County, around 30 miles northwest of downtown Los Angeles.



Helicopter footage aired on US television shows lines of students with their hands in the air, filing out of
school buildings and being led by police officers. Several pupils were placed on stretchers and taken to
ambulances in the school's car park, according to the LA Times.
Lines of students were escorted away from the school by officers.

Other schools in the area have been placed on lockdown.
The suspect is a 15-year-old boy who was wearing black clothing and a black hat, according to the sheriff's

A child and a man were seriously injured in the attack that took place around 8.30pm local time on Friday, according
to officials. The child's condition was said to be serious and he was airlifted to a children's hospital in Philadelphia.

No one had been arrested as of Friday night, and authorities were investigating whether more than one gunman might
have been involved. Authorities did not identify victims or release information on their conditions other than to say both
were alive several hours after the shooting.

It comes after the suicide of a 16-year-old boy who killed two teenagers when he opened fire on students at a high school
in California on Thursday morning. In New Jersey, Kevin Minnick, a sports reporter who was covering the game, shared
video from the scene of ambulances on the field.

"Pop, pop, pop. At least a half dozen shots in Pleasantville bleachers," he wrote on Twitter.
"Got to say my knees are shaking," he said, adding: "In 30-plus years, I've never witnessed anything like this first-hand.
I hope to never witness it again."

In footage shared by Mr Minnick, small children can be heard crying while parents carry their young ones home.
The shooting happened during a game between the Camden Panthers and the Pleasantville Greyhounds...'

FRESNO — Fresno Police have confirmed four people were killed and at least six wounded in what
police in this central California city are describing as a "mass casualty shooting."
Three people were killed at the scene, Fresno Police said. A fourth person died later at the hospital. 

Five of the wounded are in critical condition at local hospitals, and one victim was released with a minor
grazed bullet wound, BC30 Fresno reported.

“Unknown suspects” burst into a backyard party where people had gathered to watch the Los Angeles
Rams-Chicago Bears Sunday Night Football game, Fresno Police reported. The suspects remain at large. 

"What we do know is that this was a gathering, a family and friend gathering in the backyard, " Lt. Bill Dooley
said. "Everyone was watching football this evening when unknown suspects approached the residence, snuck
into the backyard and opened fire.”
He added, “Several individuals are deceased in the backyard."

The shooting took place about 6 p.m. on the city’s southeast side, Dooley said. There is no indication the shooting
was gang-related, police say. It was at least the second fatal gun attack Sunday in southeast Fresno.
A man in his 20s was shot to death early Sunday at a home in another part of the city. Police have not said whether
