October 17th, 2018...A Historic Day !! - Sol - 10-18-2018 Congratulations indeed !! I worked today so I couldn't get to stores to buy any...not that I have an urge for it but let's face it...this is an historic day ! Mind you, there are pros and cons, just like when the alcohol prohibition was lifted. But now, at the very least, the pot from legal venues won't be cut with shit that kills people, so there's that ! Prime Minister Trudeau still insists that it will hurt the illegal black market. I doubt it and I see it more as a money grab (taxes) but hey... Not as bad as that goddamn carbon tax he's trying to push...for the benefit of the environment. B. U. L. L. S. H. I. T. But I digress. Pot, weed, Mary Jane, grass...now at everyone's fingertips. Am I for it? Why the hell not? While we're at it, I would legalize prostitution as well. Sex, drugs and Rock & Roll !! After all, some things are way more stupid than smoking pot... Some people are offended by this new legalization. Here are my tiny straight little words for you: FUCK OFF. You probably are the same type of imbecile that gets offended by kiddos not dressing appropriately for Halloween. You are probably the same type of cretin that gets offended by magazines that advertise a white couple at a hotel stay. You are probably the same type of idiot that gets offended by swimsuits competition in beauty pageants competitions. Please...get a life and let the rest of us breathe... Bravo Canada ! Bravo ! A Historic Day !! . RE: October 17th, 2018...A Historic Day !! - guohua - 10-18-2018 That's Great, I'm glad you and others are Happy. Used correctly, it is a Fantastic pain and antidepressant, actually a good mood modifier. RE: October 17th, 2018...A Historic Day !! - Ninurta - 10-18-2018 Congrats! I've not smoked any weed in 40 years, and don't plan to take it back up anytime soon, but I have no objections to other folks toking up if they so desire - what they do ain't none of my goddamned business. Personally, I think ALL recreational drugs ought to be legal, up to and including heroin. What the hell do I care how someone else chooses to end themselves? "Dangerous" drugs (which don't include weed, usually) are a self-solving problem, with the added bonus of improving the gene pool. Wanna see a drug dealer in a cartel cry? Legalize his product. Prices probably won't drop, as the government is just going to take a bigger cut, but NO ONE can deal dope like a government can! Why go to all the trouble of getting shot up at the Mexican border to secure a shipment when you can walk down to the corner store anytime and get your fix? Dead junkies all over the place? No problem! Med schools and the like are always looking for cadavers, and prices on them probably WOULD drop if they could be had by the dozen on any given street. Housing prices would likely drop, too - demand for places to live would drop if there weren't so many living people to outbid one another on them. Weed make you lose your motivation? No problem! Well, that ain't strictly so - whether you have the gumption to get out and earn YOUR daily bread is not MY problem, so from my perspective - no problem! A couple hits of acid send you off on a permanent trip? No problem! Well, at least your mental well-being ain't MY problem. There is way too much of other folks deciding FOR you what is good for you, and stealing your own decisions from you. I'm not one of those other folks. I don't give a shit what other folks do on their own time. Ain't none of my business. If they decide it should somehow impact MY life, well, I got a solution for that, too! If I'm leaving them be to live their lives as they see fit, it's only neighborly for them to do the same for me. Lâchez-vous et laissez le bon temps rouler! RE: October 17th, 2018...A Historic Day !! - Wallfire - 10-18-2018 People should remember that drug dealers used "weed" as a means of pushing harder drugs on to people. It was often said that weed was the "harmless" start of the road to hell. So I think that this new law just makes it easier for drug dealers to sell harder drugs. RE: October 17th, 2018...A Historic Day !! - Mystic Wanderer - 10-18-2018 Congratulations Canada! I saw this in the news yesterday. Some say this is a good thing, while others disagree. We all have our personal opinions. Mine is, live and let live as long as it hurts no one else. We just recently got the CBD oil legalized in my state, so I quickly ran out and bought some for my arthritis pain. It has really helped. I do not care about getting high, just want the benefits of the oil. There is so much it helps with ones health, physical and mental. I think this is a step in the right direction. I have waited almost 50 years for this! Time to celebrate! RE: October 17th, 2018...A Historic Day !! - Sol - 10-18-2018 Good replies ! I've talked with different people today about this new legalization and there are as many pros and cons as there are opinions. Like Nin said, live and let live is a strong stance but another is also as Wallfire said, it's an open door to stronger drugs. Some cities have taken a harder stance on the fact though. My city, for instance, will fine you 4 grand if you get caught smoking it on the street. Yes, that's $4000.00 . Same policy they have with alcohol. Makes you think twice before lighting up where ever you feel like... Other cities, like Montreal close by, will let you smoke freely with the same restrictions as they do for the cigarettes. So, not everyone is enthusiast about having to smell that all day long. Especially since there are a LOT of people smoking where they shouldn't as they couldn't care less if you like it or not. To each his own. C'est la vie ! RE: October 17th, 2018...A Historic Day !! - guohua - 10-19-2018 |
