Oh Canada, irradiating your First Nation (native) Population is rude! - Wrabbit2000 - 05-24-2016 I have been a part of many debates over the years, both online and off, regarding contamination and/or substandard treatment of American Natives. One of the more pressing issues that has been 'under the radar' for at least a few decades, and remains as the gift to keep on giving...happens to be radioactive pollution across tribal lands in the American Southwest. I suppose Native American residents of the checkerboard reservation areas of New Mexico. Arizona and Utah can at least know they aren't entirely alone. Canada's attention to clean, potable water seems about equal to the American one. Quote:Environment Pollution in Canada on February 19 2016 04:49 AM (UTC). Source: RSOE Disaster Index (Some line spacing added for easier reading) Well then.... The alert piece concludes by saying Prime Minister Justin Trudeau has vowed to end the First Nations water crisis within 5 years. Golly... Only 5 years...eh? I know that'd give me a real warm and fuzzy feeling of confidence over each day of those 5 very very very long years I'd spend in an area with that water. I wonder if Justin would tolerate his own neighborhood being on a 5 year plan to restore something as simple as potable water? I'm thinking......not. |
