In 1989, when we invaded Panama to get Noriega, he ran into the Vatican's embassy. Since we couldn't just invade the embassy (treaty obligations and all that), Operation Nifty Package was initiated, part of which was blasting the embassy 24/7 with sound cannons pumping out high volume, high energy heavy metal. After 10 days of that, the Vatican honcho on site more or less pushed Noriega out the door to make it stop. Some folks just don't appreciate good music! |
