California has to be the Damnedest, Whiniest State to live in.
They complain about their traffic problems and have some of the Highest taxes on a gallon of fuel to pay for road improvement's, but nothing is done and they blame the business.

A successful business is being silenced! I suspect the city had to approve the site prior to construction? 
Most competent cities do that or have these types of businesses already approved in their zoning plans.
Other competent cities have streets wide enough for a Full Size 3/4 ton or 1 ton truck to drive on, Not California.

What they can't deal with is conservative viewpoint from one of the most successful companies on the planet.

The "public nuisance" is California drivers. It's not the business blocking the road, it's the customers in their cars. looks to me like if they wanted to fix it, they'd start handing out tickets for the infraction of obstructing traffic to the people actually obstructing the traffic. I'd say that would solve it in pretty short order.

Yeah, but right now, the problem is people are getting so much money for their homes, they don't care who they sell it too.  A friend lives down in KY, and their neighbor was selling their home.  People from Cali offered 50,000.00 MORE than the asking, so of course they jumped at it.  Friends are not happy.  We are seeing that craziness here in MI as well.

Believe it or not, some of them are educable. I had a kid from California working for me at my last job, and once I deconstructed him and then reconstructed him, leaving out the arrogance, I found he could be taught just like any other child. He took up with a local girl, and is still around here to this day, getting along with folks. I see them every now and then when I am out and about town in the big city with the bright lights.

I think I made a naturalized hillbilly out of him - not a bad thing, since I got my start in Ohio, yet turned out ok once I got naturalized here. In my case, however, it probably helped that all my ancestors for a couple hundred years back come from here, so I had it in my blood to begin with.

Ironic that the same City Planning and Engineering Department gladly took their money, and approved their Building Permits.  Part of the Plan Review process is for the City Traffic Planning engineers to review the same documents, and their sign-off is a prerequisite for the Building Permit approval.  Very ironic that.

Perhaps the people petitioning the City Council should really be petitioning to have their own taxes raised to pay for better Traffic Planning engineers and more efficiently designed roadways.  Not to mention petitions calling for the resignations of the City officials which were involved in approving of the plans and gladly accepting the fees, as well as the City Council members themselves for gladly accepting the local sales taxes paid into their coffers for them to use at their pleasure. 

All things considered, what the constituents of the City, and all Kalifornians, should really do is petition their State and Local governments to pass ordinances for the people to ALL STFU!

My short take on what to do with California.  To start a GoFundMe page to raise enough money to buy explosives or whatever to detach Calf. from the rest of the country.  Hopefully it would float away and just become part of the giant Pacific garbabe patch.

That area doesn't allow new drive through businesses, and they only had one existing one which Chick-fil-A purchased and the purchase was approved.

What they didn't expect I suppose, was the amount of traffic that Chick-fil-A would draw. The business has done everything in their power to mitigate the "nuisance" aspect, they have added a second drive through lane and hired more employees etc to get people through the drive thru quickly, but it's still not enough to keep the customers out of the road waiting to get in, which apparently blocks traffic as well as other businesses.

The city, last I heard, was looking at working towards finding a new, much larger location to relocate the Chick-fil-A to, which if the location was good would work. Apparently people in California love their Chick-fil-A.

In reading more about it I can see why it can be an issue, and if the city goes ahead and approves a new location that's better for all involved then it would be an all's well that ends well situation.

But apparently as it stands, there can easily be a 45 minute wait to get into that Chick-fil-A, with miles long lines that block all manner of traffic. I can't imagine any fast food that good! But apparently this one is...
