What To Do If Your Parachute Fails
#1
Here's something everyone should watch.
I mean, everyone will jump out of an airplane eventually, right?

I once heard a story. According to the tale it was, I think WWII, and it was, I think Russia, that sent paratroopers out to jump with no parachutes at all. They apparently had a parachute shortage, and a pressing need to jump into danger anyhow, so out they went.

They told them to "jump into snowbanks", which the paratroopers dutifully did, for the Motherland.

I'm told that nearly 1/3 of them actually survived it.

.
Diogenes was eating bread and lentils for supper. He was seen by the philosopher Aristippus, who lived comfortably by flattering the king.

Said Aristippus, ‘If you would learn to be subservient to the king you would not have to live on lentils.’ Said Diogenes, ‘Learn to live on lentils and you will not have to be subservient to the king.’

Well, that's awesome and all, but how many were actually able to run into battle afterward?   tinybighuh
