Just Another Example...
#1
This is just another example of how the media uses headlines to twist the truth.  I know we've covered this in past threads, but I'll keep on making threads and exposing them for what they are for as long as they keep doing it!   tinyok

The Headline reads, Republican Legislators Propose a Series of Bills That Would Criminalize Peaceful Protests.

[Image: 1485178968-gettyimages-545728432-1485166213_3.jpg]

Now, if you actually bother to look at the article, it states, "According to The Intercept, several proposals have been introduced by Republican legislators over the past few weeks specifically targeting protests that block or obstruct traffic—including a North Dakota bill that would allow motorists to hit and kill protesters obstructing the highway "as long as [the] driver does so accidentally."

Yes, I agree with that. If they play in the streets, they might get killed by a car; it happens.  And, I'll also add that if I ever come across them blocking my path, I'll be one that does it!

And, in the first paragraph of this article they write, "While most of the world is still buzzing with positive energy from the Women's Marches on Saturday, several Republican legislators have been working hard to potentially make future peaceful protests a punishable offense."

My attention here is with them saying the woman's march is "buzzing with positive energy".  NOT TRUE, unless you are one of the misinformed women that agree with them.  (If so, I'm working on educating you here at RN.)   I've seen plenty of posts that disagree with the women's marches. Here is just one of them:

But, back to the topic at hand, here is another statement in this article:

Quote:Another bill in Minnesota would make obstructing a highway a "gross misdemeanor" punishable by a hefty fine of $3,000 and up to a year in jail, while a separate piece of legislature would make "obstructing the legal process" punishable by an even heftier fine of up to $10,000 plus "imprisonment of not less than 12 months." Similar bills designed to criminalize and discourage protests have also been proposed in Washington, Iowa, and Michigan.

As The Intercept points out, this "trend" appears to be a not-so-subtle workaround to the First Amendment, which states, "Congress shall make no law respecting...the right of the people peaceably to assemble." Furthermore, the bills seem to be in response to recent protests organized by Black Lives Matter and the activists fighting construction of the Dakota Access Pipeline—which is horrifying for a multitude of reasons, most notably the continued criminalization of black and brown people.

The very specific targeting becomes even more concerning when combined with what Slate reports is a "bracing message implicitly directed to supporters of the Black Lives Matter movement" from the Trump administration.

Now, I'll try to finish up this thread without having my blood pressure cause me to black out!  Sigh...   smallnotamused

How many here think BLM puts on peaceful demonstrations?  Please raise your hand so we can see how many stupid people are reading this.

Let me educate you by first telling you that standing in the road and blocking traffic is NOT a peaceful demonstration.  By doing so, they are inflicting THEIR beliefs on the rights of others, and keeping them from getting to where they need to go. They could be blocking someone in need of getting to a hospital, or causing them to miss their plane, or any number of important reasons.  But, do they care?  NO!  There is already a law about this, but I'm not sure where to find it at this moment.

And now to the other sentence, "the continued criminalization of black and brown people" Oh please! Give me a freakin' break!
The Obama days are over!  You won't be able to use that "black card" now to get your way!  Thank god!!  Go find a safe place in a corner somewhere and cry your little eyes out!

And, for the rest of the article, I applaud Pres. Trump for going after BLM.  If you don't agree, PLEASE go speak with a psychologist; you have a severe mental problem that needs to be addressed!

I sorta got off topic from the beginning of the OP, but the point was, to show how the MSM twists the headlines around to make Trump look bad, then in this post they try to make him look bad for doing the job that the American voters voted him into office to do.

Sometimes, I just have to shake my head and laugh at how ridiculous some people are.   tinylaughing

ETA: (Sorry, for changing alphabet colors.  It changed to where you couldn't see it on the white screen when I highlighted the quotes.  Is blue okay?
Actually, I think RED, White, and Blue are very fitting for this post.   tinybiggrin     )

Well, a cheap-shot would be to say it was written by a female, but I see the comments
below the article -by women, didn't really paint it in a good light.

It's just more slanted feminist garbage to imply the Police are male Nazi storm-troopers
and the people in power are fat, old white men.

The article is catering for the oppressed women who say that if they did work, they'd be
underpaid and it's also for the coloured (that's black as Middle-East Asians, Han and
aboriginal people don't seem to count!)  folk who -in the cartoon, one-dimensional world
that Journalists enjoy throwing at their readers/viewers, live in same environment as
Rosa Parks.

For myself, this is the true 'Fake News' it's trouble-causing propaganda and reveals the
lack of maturity in the Journalistic world.

...And it's for people like the owners of this sign.

I'm just flabbergasted that the media don't comment on the silly sign I've showed,
it's indicative of the class of people that go to rallies such as these.

I would dare to say that in the United Kingdom and certainly outside of London,
'Normal' Men and women have lives that offer very little time to wander around
Piccadilly Circus dressed as a giant Bee or carry signs that reveal they have no idea
that men purchase shaving equipment with their own money.

In my view, it seemed more like a day-out where people with undeveloped pragmatic
perceptions on reality or persons who live in a reality that isn't really effected by such
things as poverty, poor wages and terrible employment contracts, being a single-parent,
ghetto-living, physical abuse from religious dogma or many other things that the average
person confronts in their life.

Instead, these rallies are formed with assistance from former-Government officials who believe
women should be allowed to spend the money they make??...

Are full of young people who aren't aware that the 'Abortion Law' that Trump signed was really
about:
'...This particular executive order is relevant outside of US borders.
The policy requires non-governmental organisations receiving federal funding to agree to
"neither perform nor actively promote abortion as a method of family planning in other nations".'
SOURCE:

Instead, there's 'keep off my P*ssy' signs and thousands of people who're demanding onlookers
to heed the words "Heh!! look at me, I'm somebody!"
In my opinion, it was kids-being-kids, women of a certain age wanting to go back and fat chicks
who couldn't get a man.

(Sorry for being cruel!)

Yes, it's really an embarrassment to the rest of the female race how these woman are choosing to show their lack of intelligence to the world.
I would like to state here that I do not agree with this march!  I think that is obvious, but I'll state it anyway.

I might grab that source you posted and spread it around social media to educate the less-intelligent female sex.  Thanks!

Woman's march Women's protest... The way I see it...Trump got more fat women to walk in one day than Michelle did in 8 years..

As far as blocking streets... Many (a few?) self defense classes are now teaching if you can not back up an flee; do not stop unless you want to be pulled out of the car and be just another bloody spot on the ground.. That would be very hard to do for many law abiding citizens, no doubt.... not to mention the damage to your pride and joy automobile.. However better than getting your head stomped in and your passengers suffering the same fate..IMO

It is alarming that people are so upset over somebody they don't actually know!

If the election is talked about in a serious sense, then it's the level of serious political
decisions of a President that should be discussed.

Donald Trump is seen as a egocentric buffoon, a rich businessman who says he can
make his country great again and has a strange haircut.

Is the external appearance of a politician so important to the people they're supposed
to represent?! Seriously, how would you perceive a person who votes for a candidate
based on his-or-her appearance?

Did -in general, people's lives improve under the Obama administration?
Was it deemed that Hillary Clinton would continue and add to that assumed
improvement if she'd been elected?

Could a seventy year-old man who has no political history be able to gather together
smart people who can unify, financially improve lives of the majority and bring a
confidence to the country in regards of well-being and defence?

Whether that person has a vagina, boasts that in his past he had touched those body
-areas, vomits lumps of lung-butter into a glass on stage or accepts monies from other
lands deemed dubious by the media, I think that if that same person enhanced the
situation they came into in and in a serious manner, then that's all that is required
from them.

Of course, that doesn't mean we shoud extol the virtues of someone who brings joy
into the masses lives and eats kittens off-camera, but that's what mainstream media
is for... so you don't find out!
(Take a look at the shrouding of JFK, Nixon's and Bill Clinton's pastimes!)

Barrack Obama once said:
"Take off your bedroom slippers. Put on your marching shoes... 'Shake it off.
Stop complainin'. Stop grumblin'. Stop cryin'.
We are going to press on. We have work to do."

But...
Martha N. Johnson, head of the General Services Administration, fired two top GSA
officials and then resigned herself after it was revealed that $822,000 had been spent
in Las Vegas on a four-day training conference for 300 GSA employees.
SOURCE:
And there's many more -by both parties.
.........................................

The recent election has brought out those of us who believe the superficial is important
and I would suggest it's those of us that think the the large letters on the sign are more
relevant than what the words say -should take another look at what leadership is all
about.

In Trump's case, we don't know enough yet.
