It sounds like it will become the next common cold. Since it is considered "normal" for everyone on the planet to have a common cold each year and for some it is even common to have it two, three, times a year or more, according to the CDC.

I saw this intro a couple of days ago and laughed. Not because I could make a connection mentally to the dialogue in the intro, but because it is so appropriately titled.

Ugh! Dammit, I’m so sick of hearing more doom and gloom about covid! I’m debating whether to get a second booster. My hubby had his a few days ago. One day, they say we’re close to the end of the pandemic, the next, it’s doom and gloom and we’re all gonna wind up sick. This is why I don’t want to watch the news anymore.
